Starting with Coach Bryants first in 61, how many Championships has Bama won when the so called experts didn't give us a chance.

not many, in the Bryant era, we were definitely the hunted!

Re: Interesting breakdown of BAMA on Gameday

Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, and TT are all winning much more convincingly than we are, and we assumed the no. ranking mainly by default. Until we start truly dominating teams, like we showed that we are capable of doing against Clemson and Georgia earlier in the season, we simply are not going to get a lot of respect over these teams. That may not be fair, but that is the way it is...

Our '61 team gave up only 25 pts ALL YEAR. I would say we were pretty dominating that season. In fact, I would say that was our best team ever.

they played the clip of Saban from "Hey Coach" and all 3 thought it was a great motivational talk for the players and the fans alike.

Then they broke down the rest of the season, including the SECCG and how to beat BAMA. Talked about spreading our defense out and making the LBs and secondary play spaces. Said florida is the perfect team to do that.

Said oddsmakers ALREADY have us as an 8 point dog if both teams win out. And if we were to win the SECCG,they already have us as a minimum 7 point dog to any Big XII team. Interesting......not surprising, but interesting nonetheless.
USC is an 11 point favorite over Bama in the NCG, if that were to happen today.

While the current trend is to build teams with great offense and competent defense, Bama is a traditional team built around great defense and competent offense. Because of that, we don't throw up 40 and 50 points per game (which only about 4 or 5 years ago was considered running up the score).

I still think Bama is a year or two away from ELITE status, but with good coaching and solid talent, we definitely have a shot to win every game. I'm excited to see what the coaches put together for the SECCG.

Florida is a good all around team. Their defense is very good to. I believe our defense will keep us in the game as they do each week. This game will come down to if our offense plays better than they have in weeks. If we run the ball well and keep their offense off the field watch out. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

Florida is playing very good football right now. Until the teams line up and Bama smashes that UF line in the mouth, no one is going to give us any respect.

Re: Interesting breakdown of BAMA on Gameday

It is curious how UF is getting so much love from the media. It sounds like they don't give Bama much chance against them. I know they're a good team and all, but of all the top teams, they have the worst loss, getting beat in their own stadium by an average at best Mississippi team. I don't deny being an OU homer, but I think this whole scenario is odd. I'm not sure USC couldn't beat anybody on a neutral field.

I agree. The Sooners are playing better than anybody, including UF, IMO, and your loss in the RRS was much more respectable than UF's to Ole Miss. If you guys can beat TT convincingly, I think you have a good chance of vaulting to no. 2 in the rankings.

Well I guess I might lose my OU homer status, but I don't really think the Sooners ARE playing better than anybody. Our offense is playing real well, but defense and especially special teams are not. I've never seen a return team play as poorly as ours. They gave Texas a free TD, and at a time we could have put them away. Stoops has put a lot of starters on punt and kickoff teams, and they still suck. I don't think you can win a national title with those 2 parts of your team playing poorly. I'd love to see Bama play USC for the big trophy. JMO.

Do the experts know more than Coach Saban? I think not so lets allow Coach to worry about all that.
