Re: Alabama vs Virginia Tech

This is great news - though I wish we weren't starting an inexperienced QB in such a high profile game.

Great NATIONAL exposure for Bama on the first week of the season!

ROLL TIDE!

(And I have a nephew graduating from Va. Tech this week.)

Should we go ahead and chalk that one down as a win?

We'll be favored, but it's far from a given.

We'll have a quarterback getting his first start, and you can rest assured that Virginia Tech won't roll over and play dead like Clemson did. Say what you will about the ol' Chokies, but at the very least they will come out and match our physicality and our intensity.

I had 129 points this year, but still managed to get two lower bowl tix for Clemson via Tide Pride. Still much easier than getting SECCG tickets for sure, because more tickets go to the schools, as opposed to season ticket holders, corporate sponsors, other SEC schools, execs, etc...

Re: Alabama vs Virginia Tech

Oooohhhhh we better win this one! I've been waiting since the Music City Bowl for some revenge against these guys!! It's been tough up here in Hokieville as a Bama fan.

Last year I tried to pick on one of the supervisors where I work about some game Tech lost last year. He said I've got two words for ya, Louisiana Monroe!
That one left a mark.

Anyway, I can't take losing to them again. Here's to a great start to the season and a big ol' glass of shut up for the Hokies!!!

Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Alabama vs Virginia Tech

I really like this quality matchup early in the season before we start facing SEC opponents. Hopefully, it will be a quality WIN before the round of non-conference cupcakes...

Well, VT has started slow the last couple years.

Re: Alabama vs Virginia Tech

I hate starting with this game, and having to break out a new QB and re-tooled OL vs the Va Tech D that is basically always top 10.

Hopefully we can prove that we're ready at those positions. Our defense should keep us in the game though.

Va Tech certainly is no Clemson, Beamer is a great coach (one of my favorites) and they're going to give us a fight. Their offensive playmakers will be more mature also.

If we can get our running game going, we should win.
