Oh God... I knew their win over a powerhouse Hawaii team would land them a spot in the top 25 next year.

If someone could stat check for me... I think we were younger this year than they were???
Fairly certain our senior class (9 schollies) was the smallest in FBS.

Re: Next years season projection

The thing to look forward to next year is that we should get STRONGER as the year goes on. The depth issues of the past are starting to evaporate, but the lack of game experience is huge. We have too many fresh faces to expect to go undefeated. I would go so far as to say that if we were ONLY losing JPW, we'd have a hard time breaking in a QB in the SEC without dropping a game. Look how much the QB position impacted LSU's season. When you gut the O line like we are this year, there's got to be some drop-off.

I'm going to reserve my high hopes for the defense, as we should be solid there despite the loss of our backfield "QB", RJ. I have loved watching Rolando play LB at Bama, and will view this 2009 season as his farewell tour before the NFL.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the fresh faces, especially what we have to work with at QB. It should be another fun year for anyone who isn't expecting too much.

Re: Next years season projection

Finally got around to reading the article.... this caught my attention

Quote:
USC quarterback Mitch Mustain, who played for Malzahn in high school and briefly at Arkansas, will transfer to Auburn.
That's literally impossible.... he's already played 2 seasons and only has 1 more year of eligibility left thanks to the year - if he transfers he'd never be able to play a game....

There are a few people upset about the fact that Mustain may never play again, and I think all of them have the surname "Mustain".

Re: Next years season projection

I think with our schedule that it's not totally unrealistic to think we may go undefeated in the regular season again.

Va. Tech will be difficult, not so much because they're going to be so good, but because we ended with two losses and our confidence may be a little shaky at first.

But if we get by that one, and improve as the season progresses we have a chance to win them all.

Re: Next years season projection

Nothing in the article offended me at all. We could easily lose to Va. Tech in the 09 opener. Back-to-back SEC West Champs would be great -- and Florida's got to lose sooner or later!!

I predict we go undefeated. 12-0, beat florida, win sec. We play texas in NC and win. First to go 14-0!

You heard it here first!

Big A Re: Next years season projection

Since we will be playing one of the easiest schedules I have ever seen us have, we will go undefeated if we can beat Va Tech. We have SEVEN home games too.

Re: Next years season projection

The O has the advantage of working against it's own defense to bring itself up to speed. CJM can put this to good use. Full-contact good-on-good will be a tougher test than VaTec. Alabama is now consistently relevant.
