That wasn't JPW. That was his brother, Ross, who plays infield for the Tide baseball team. Ross is a sophomore this year, and to the best of my knowledge, the offer stands.
Both of them were drafted out of high school, and the offers don't stand.
I'd hire him in a heartbeat. Anyone who shows that kind of toughness, leadership and competitive spirit will be a success no matter what he decides to do.

I'm not sure of what John Parker's major is, but if he's smart, he could rack up being a sales rep in the state of Alabama. ANY type of rep. It doesn't even matter if he knows what he's talking about. Customers would buy from the company just for a chance to meet him. He has absolutely nothing to worry about as long as he stays in the SouthEast.
Exactly. Many recruits do not recognize the future benefit of being an Alabama player, compared to say, Ole Miss. The job opportunities are much more extensive and Alabama has a much larger alumni network for help.
I think we can better answer this question after the Senior bowl.
I know that many fault JPW for many of the problems with our offense but we should also note that he has had to learn a new offense just about every year he has been there. While he has struggled at times, Having to work with different receivers every year and having to learn the different systems, I think he has come through it all pretty well. He is not that fleet of foot but the sacks in the Sugar bowl had as much to do with play calling and the offensive line. After the play action he had little time to do much else before having someone in his face and we were not picking up the blitz very well. Our D spotted them 3 right off the bat in the 1st qtr and our offense has not faced that kind of deficit all year. We are not really setup to come from behind.
I am not making any excuses for him. He ended up with some pretty good stats and a pretty good record and has pretty good arm strength. I would just like to see what the NFL guys think of him after Senior bowl week. The NFL is a funny animal. There are several rookie QBs that I was not that familiar with as college players. I would not complete count him out.

I never remember Tom Brady playing in college so I guess anything is possible. However I didnt see anything that led me to believe the NFL is in his future.

He's got a bright future regardless of which path he chooses...

Was he a starter. Seems like I heard he was a backup...could be thinking of someone else though. Regardless, Tebow is probally the best college QB in the nation but he will probally struggle in the NFL. I never really heard much of Matt Ryan, Tyler Thigpin, Derick Anderson or even the GB QB. They were not Carson Palmer, Vinnie Testaverde or Mark Woeller types coming out of college. Matt Leinhart, Vince Young and Michael Vick made a big splash but have not really done much at the NFL level. Maybe I am just too focused on the SEC but the Manning boys and Phillip Rivers are the only ones (recently) that I can think of that were successfull in both college and the NFL. The college game is just so different form the NFL and the skillsets for QB are different.
