Lorenzo Washington names favorite

One of the South’s top defensive line prospects, Lorenzo Washington from Grayson (Ga.) High School, just returned from his official visit to Georgia.

“I just returned home from Georgia and my trip was good. I had fun and it was nice getting to see and talk with the coaches,” Washington said. “Also, I met some of the players and I already had friends there so the visit was nice.”

Last week Washington, 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, visited Alabama and the jumbo athlete is closing in on his final decision between the Tide and Dawgs.

“Both of my visits were very nice and Alabama and Georgia have been my top two schools all along,” Washington said. “Both have great programs and coaches. Overall they are very comparable.

“I sort of knew where I wanted to go before I made my visits but my visits pretty much sealed the deal. I’m not ready to announce now. I’ll sit down this weekend and compare the two schools and weigh each of their pluses and minuses and go from there.

“But Alabama is my favorite.”

“My plans right now are to announce in late January on a television show,” Washington said.

Note

He will be on the field somewhere next season. Now if we could add Miller, another guy who will be on the field next season (IMO) if we land him. You can't keep playmakers off the field and the Tide needs playmakers. I saw some footage of Miller and he reminds me of Julian Peterson for the 49ers. Washington will make his own name.
