ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

Share

Didn't see this in the scrolling news section:

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec/0-7-9...n-the-SEC.html

Here's the SouthernPigskin.com article mentioned: http://www.southernpigskin.com/index...enue_rankings/

No biggie, but hey, football news is slow at this time.

South Carolina? That place is a dump. Built in the middle of a giant parking lot...

Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

I have only been to Bryant-Denny Stadium and Mississippi State's stadium.

So, in my opinion, I have experienced the best and worst of the SEC.

The ones I'd like to visit someday are:

LSU - the rowdiness of LSU fans aside, I'd like to experience a Saturday in Death Valley someday, especially for a BAMA win.

Florida Field - I'd like to visit the hallowed ground of Bronko "Tim Tebow" Nagurski someday

Georgia - perhaps for another blackout game

And then some others out of conference such as Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Nebraska.

the only thing that keeps vandy from being tied for worst is the part of Nashville it's located in. Put it over where tsu plays and you've got vandy and msu slugging it out for low honors.

You can only tell so much from TV.

When I went the BAMA vs. MSU game in Starkville in 2003, I was surprised to say the least. It looked like a glorified community college campus and a glorified high school stadium.

Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

We have lost some heartbreakers in BDS over the past decade that brought us down. Other than that...I think we have a top 3 or 4 stadium. I think once our South End Zone is complete...we will have the most aesthetically pleasing stadium.

We have Denny Dogs though...which puts us at #1 in my book.

6. South Carolina: One of the most underrated game-day experiences in college football. Gotta love the Cockabooses.
I had never heard of a "Cockaboose" so I googled it. Interesting. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/drehs/031...hcarolina.html

Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

Really not sure on the aesthetics rankings....

How is Florida's cut-up, no continuous lines, slapped-together stadium the #2 ranked?

HOW is Jordan-Hare ranked ahead of us in aesthetics??? The field is nice but the stadium itself is totally unbalanced.

I've been to all 12 SEC stadiums and I can tell you - without a doubt - that LSU's stadium is louder than Florida. Period. No question. Ever.

But after we post another successful record at BDS and increase our seating to over 100K I think even by his warped standards we're going to be in the top 2 if not the top stadium in the conference.

Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

I thought The Swamp was a pretty cool place.

Kentucky and South Carolina both had nice fans....stadiums were nothing to wow about.

Been a while since I went to Georgia. It was nice from what I remember. I remember the miserable walk to and from the stadium in front of frat row.

Big A Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

on TV the Miss. State game for the "92" Title, that was AWESOME. never been there and don't care but I bet that was an Awesome site to see. That was a great game and the cowbells were ringing loud that night, it was hard to hear the tv announcers. That was an Awesome(the word Awesome again) season and that was one of those games that made it happen.

Re: ESPN.com: My favorite stadiums in the SEC

I've seen a game in every SEC stadium except Kentucky. And I've been to Kentucky's stadium.

Two thoughts: MSU's stadium is an embarrassment. Regardless of noise and capacity, if you don't have an enclosed stadium, you should not be in the SEC. Period.

Vandy's stadium is just liked BDS, pre-expansion. Like, before the first expansion.
