You could spend weeks studying this and not fully understand it. I now understand why so many players have trouble picking up on it. Be patient, it's 326 pages and takes a little time to load. Also has daily practice schedules and other goodies.

Obviosly, you haven't taken the time to look at it. Look over the entire playbook and then judge. Have you ever named a file? This is an in depth look into Sabans defensive mind.

If this really is his playbook, why are you distributing it all over the internet?

It's already been posted. That's the other site that your downloading it from. It's also from 2001 LSU and this stuff is fluid and always changing. Doubtful if I'm revealing anything that other D-1 coaches don't already know. How many teams ran the spread or Wildcat in 2001?

It's also his cousin's name...allegedly. Another coach.

Maybe that playbook was a mix of Lou Tepper's defense and Coach Saban's defense. Kind of like mixing oil and water, though.

anyone realize his base defense in 2001 was a 4-3?
Yep, he's pretty much been a 4-3 man until getting to Miami and seeing what a Jason Taylor type defender can do for a defense.
