I wouldn't be surprised to see Upchurch have a break out season this year. It might not be to the extent of Coffee last year, but (if he can stay healthy) he is due a great year with his speed, agility, and underated power.
Ingram and Richardson may be the thunder, but I'm looking for Upchurch to provide a little lightning this year!
...If he (Fluker...)can learn much at all about the Bama blocking schemes, how in the world are you going to keep someone like that off your offensive line -- how can you redshirt him?
I still wanna say that Anders is gonna have a good year this year at LB. He was our only consistent pass rushing threat last year, basically the pass rushing specialist. And im pretty sure he will be a senior this year to!
Count me in the camp that believes we'll see good things from Anders this year. Agree he was our only pass rusher of consequence.
Anders made an impact rushing the QB pretty much due to the fact we had no one else at that position who could get there as fast. He's undersized and IMO will see his time decrease as we get bigger and stronger players ready for that position. Same with Corey Reamer.
I think you will see a lot more Crimson in backfields of opposing offenses this year. The talent is better and the depth is there to have fresh legs longer. The poor centers against Bama are in for a long day. Cody, Chapman, and Murphy one after another when any of the three could be starters on just about any team in America. Good grief.

Is Maze going to play sort of like a percy harvin type position? in the spring game it seemed like they had him doin some of those motion quick passes and short screen type things...
It depends on our ability to run the ball. We simply didn't get many defenses last year that would allow for a slip screen...you generally need the DBs to play off the WRs to execute those sort of plays. I'd like to see us implement that bubble screen that Kentucky used against us last year. I have a feeling on formations that we're pegged to pass in by the opponent, they'll be pinning their ears back and trying the "first to McElroy wins" routine...that play would make them play the rush a little slower.
I'm not an insider, this is just my guess from all the information i have gleened thus far. Open discussion welcome, in some cases I'm speculating on where they will wind up. I especially don't know where Hightower will start, Jack or middle and of course the OL isn't settled.

I apologize for any typo's I had, and as some have surmised I did not list every player, mostly 3 or 4 deep. My issue at LB is that traditionally the JACK is at least 6'4" or taller and closer to 250, Anders and Upshaw appear to be pass rushing specialists to me. (and good ones). Which leads me to believe that either Hightower wil be moving to Jack or Harbin or Stinson are ready to take the job. All of this assumes Fanney is off the team which may be a false assumption.
As for Fluker my gut tells me he's not quite ready for SEC speed rushers, but that may change as the season goes on. Its doubtful he will redshirt. If we want to run the ball on someone you can't go wrong with him and of course short yardage.
I have repeatedly stated my concerns that Vlachos won't get movement in the run game due to size. I will be giddy with laughter if I'm wrong and slap my own self for lack of faith. I'll let his mamma slap me too just for being a jerk.
I would not be surprised if McCarron overtook Jackson for #2 QB.
If we get ONE of the incoming freshman defensive ends to SEC level this fall we will have a three deep defensive line that I feel comfortable with. I don't recall that ever happening. It will be the rotation from hell for our opposition.
EDIT: For that matter Flukers mom can slap me too, They can beat me like a tied up mule if they keep McElroys jersey clean

Do you expect Hightower be Fanney's replacement at Jack? Who is going to replace Hightower inside if that move is made? Do you think Reamer will be able to hold on to a starting job?
