Re: 2009 depth chart (very early one)

Thanks. It is early, but it's fun to discuss. You left off Peek and have Deaderick at LB; should be Fanney.
I keep hearing AJ McCarron may be moving up the chart, but of course have not seen him.
My biggest concern is getting the best fit at O-line. I hope Fluker can play tackle and allow Carpenter to play RG. I realize Fluker is pretty raw and had a shoulder injury as well, but if that could work, that would be an awesome line. It sure will be nice when Fall practice starts and we get some reports and new pictures of the incoming class. I have a feeling Trent Richardson is going to be a Freshman phenom that will blow people away.
In 02, when Maurice Clarrett was a FR at Ohio State he carried them to the MNC. They had an average but smart QB in Krenzel. They had a good O-line. They had a top 5 Defense. I see this team a lot like that one but more explosive and with more playmakers.
It sure is nice to have a depth of talent. Thank you Coach Saban!

Re: 2009 depth chart (very early one)

I've heard that AJ has been doing very well this summer, and should move up the chart. Also, regarding Marquis Johnson, I've heard that BJ Scott is advancing past him in the depth chart and doing very well this summer. I suppose as of right now you can just consider this all rumors, but I'm just throwing it out there, just to see what others think.

Also, Evan Cardwell is no longer on the team, not that he was expected to contribute much

Re: 2009 depth chart (very early one)

It should be a big plus if Harris develops at the Will linebacker and moves past someone! Is this the backer that is primarily responsible for putting the rush on the QB? With our depth now we should be a fourth quarter team!

Re: 2009 depth chart (very early one)

Physically Fluker is ready to play left tackle. He threw the best dl around like matchsticks in the all star game. How quickly can he learn the system is the question? Can he learn it during the summer? If he can move past Carpenter and Carpenter can move to RG it should be a solid line on the first unit! I think Andre Smith started as a freshman but we did not have the athletes we have now! I think physically he is better than Andre but can he learn the system as fast? Any thoughts?

Re: 2009 depth chart (very early one)

Any way you can format this thing so it's easier to read? Also, spelling the players' names correctly (and with capital letters at the beginning) would be appreciated.

I'm kinda yankin' your chain...but not really....that thing makes my eyes hurt the way you've got it now.
