Should have kept his mouth shut and picked BAMA.
Maybe, but in all honesty it likely wouldn't have mattered either way.

Our wide receivers the past couple of years have been a lot better than their Auburn counterparts (and will be in the years to come too), and if he couldn't crack the playing rotation on the Plains, he certainly wouldn't have been able to do it here either.

Furthermore, you know as well as I do that his notorious big mouth and attitude wouldn't have worked with Saban for one second. Shula tolerated that garbage, Saban pretty much kicked all of those guys to the curb in his first twelve months in Tuscaloosa.

Honestly, he looks to me like your typical high-profile recruit that just never pans out. To me, it's looking like a best case scenario for him is to come back and have a strong senior season, which means that for all the hype and drama, he'll play one good year of college football. Color me unimpressed.

Hindsight 20/20, we got the better end of the deal with McCoy, and honestly I wonder just how good he was in the first place. He's got great measurables, no doubt there, but the attitude and work ethic are in question, and frankly he was a bit of a hard evaluation coming out of Homewood... they were annihilating people and on most nights he was only playing in the first half. All I know is that when he left Homewood as Mr. Everything, he stunk it up in the Alabama v. Mississippi All-Star game, and hasn't been able to get any playing time in one of the worst wide receiver corps in the conference.
