Oh ok...so all I have to do is pay $120 for Gameplan.

Thanks DirecTV!
It might be different for people living in Alabama since the game will be "blacked out" on Gameplan. They may offer Alabama residence the PPV option. I was just told I couldn't.

Look at the bright side, with the $120 you can watch great games, like Stony Brook vs. Colgate!

Correction...$135!

I will call DirecTV to see if they are offering the PPV in the state of Alabama.

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

In the past, if you are outside the state of AL, you can purchase Gameplan for the day. You get all the gameplan games for the day, including the AL game. I believe that is $24 this year. You should not have to pay the $120-135 for the season, at least I hope not.

If you are in the state of AL, and (FL in this case b/c we play FIU) this game is blacked out on game plan and you have to purchase the individual game for $30 or whatever it is.

Thanks. I did not know that. I'll be making my phone call today.

UPDATED:

You can purchase gameplan for ONE DAY at the price of $24. But you can only purchase the "one day" option the day of the game.

This has been my experience as well. DirecTV is notorious for not posting the lineups until late either. We can't use Gameplan in state- its blacked out.
But last year they made every game available on PPV (individual-not Gameplan).
I'd be very surprised (and very disappointed) if they don't have this one available as well as I was planning on getting it.

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

I just went to the DISH site and ESPN gameplan site. They do not have the schedule for this weekend yet. The ESPN gameplan site should have a scheule of games and a blackout out map. They still have the games up for last weekend.

I will be getting it this weekend, although this will be the first time I have ordered one in over 5 years. I haven't missed a home game since I got my season tickets, but my son has his football game Saturday. Seen as I am 4 hours away I can't make both. I will miss being there, but it will be worth it.

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

I have direct tv and I have never not been able to order a game for Bama in Bama. They normally offer just the bama game for those in Alabama. Buzzard may be having problems because of where he lives. Anyway, I am hoping for ESPN 360

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

I have a Wii and Monday I found out that I can get the internet browser on it for free. SO IF I can get ESPN 360 to play on my Wii I can watch the game for free!

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

I called DirecTV and was told they will NOT be offering the game via PPV at all. They told me I would need to order ESPN GamePlan.

So...if this is the case then there is no way GamePlan could black out the Alabama game for those of us in Alabama because that would completely defeat the whole purpose.

I will check to see if I can get GamePlan for one day only and that the Alabama game will not be blacked out.

Re: Renting the FL Int. Game on Dish?

GamePlan updated their site and their blackout maps.

ESPN - GamePlan Blackout Schedule

Our game IS in the blackout area. This means if you have DirecTV...you cannot watch the game AT ALL.

Someone needs to call DirecTV to complain because this is not right. It makes no sense whatsoever!!!

There is always the option of going to a restaurant or bar that is showing it. I am sure that you won't have any shortage of those in B'ham. Dinner and a couple beers shouldn't cost you more than $25, and the game comes with that for free.

Too bad I'm in charge of a 30-50 person tailgate on the Quad each home game.

A friend of mine called DirecTV and they said to check back on Friday, and that the game might show up by then.

If not...we will be searching for someone with DISH so we can watch it out there on the Quad.
