Is there some kind of rule about blocking low down field? Maybe its just the shade of crimson in my glasses, but I thought a low block like that from an OL down field was kind of dirty?
I think he is probably out for the year as well. This is where CNS recruiting skills pay off. I think we will be fine.
Get well, Donta!

It was a legal hit, but I thought it was dirty. He led with his helmet and put right on DH's kneecap. The "clean" way to cut block would have been for the o-lineman to "roll" his shoulders into DH's legs. If he had done that, an injury would have been unlikely unless DH's cleats got stuck in the turf or something.

It's a major loss to be sure but I thought the guys stepped up and played well without him the rest of the game. We should still be okay, but nobody is just going to simply replace Dont'a. I certainly wish him a very speedy recovery.

Even Saban skipped it, and then Cecil asked him. Coach Saban in a quite voice said he should have addressed that and went into a plan and mentioned Hightower's high character. It was very sombering.
I actually thought CNS was on the edge of crying. He looked that way, then paused and rubbed his eyes in more of a stressful gesture than tear wiping but when he was done his eyes were red.
I was telling my wife that the injury could actually cost us a shot at the NC at some point. She told me to quite being so negative. Anyone could get injured, even Tebow and what would happen to UF. When we found out about Tebow she asked if she'd jinxed him.
