I think ole sis & uga do not get enough credit for having the worst game day idiot fans in the conference. I have been to every stadium in the SEC and those 2 places are the only ones that I thought I would have to fight going into and leaving the stadium. The ole sis game I attended, circa '95 was a bottle throwing fest. One of my buddies took a hot dog to the back of the head. If it had been a Denny Dog I might have followed the 5 second rule & eaten it. Those that are going have a safe trip & yell your lungs raw.RTR!

I wish Southerners would stop denigrating each other with terms like "white trash" - "trailer park trash" - "toothless" - "inbred," etc. It serves no purpose other than to reinforce the false image others have of us. Dang, it's bad enough to have to put up with it from those outside the South, we shouldn't be eating our own.
Needless to say, I detest Jeff Foxworthy.
I agree with that 100%. I've lived outside the South for 10 years and many folks assume that I'm in the klan just because I'm from Alabama.
We're all Southerners and the vast majority of us are good people.
I do like Jeff Foxworthy, though. He puts the "redneck" label on all regions.
Was driving home from work here in Southern CA today and heard two stupids on a local sports talk show talking about Courtney Upshaw and his domestic violence case. They were yukking it up about the girlfriend's father calling up Saban and telling him not to suspend Upshaw - that his daughter was just as much to blame. They said the judge "dropped the charges" and when the father and daughter walked out of the courthouse, the father yelled "Roll Tide!" with the implication being he didn't care about his daughter, just cared about the football team. What they DIDN'T say was about Upshaw's having to take an anger management course - they conveniently left that part out - acted like he got off scott free just because he was an Alabama football player.
By the way - one of these guys is an ex-USC player - give me a BREAK! I had to hold myself back from calling and reading them the riot act, but this is what Bama fans have to put up with all over the country - especially when we're winning. Just a sign that - WE'RE BACK!!!!!!
People go to youtube and bash vids just to bash vids and start trouble.. Now how many of them posting are ole miss fans I havent a clue. But
evey action has its consequence. and this was his.

Wish you'd've called, not that it would do any good...

At the end of the day.. it's all pretty much stupid and shows how we let such trivial things occupy our time rather than focus on real issues ... even those in our own homes. Sad.

I've traveled outside the South some and it's always a funny moment when non-Southerners realize that a Southerner can actually be functionally literate, moderately educated and somewhat intelligent.
I've never seen that moment in person, but that's what I've heard anyway.

Ha, I know what you mean. I also feel, sometimes, that when I meet new people that I'm not only representing myself, but the great State of Alabama and Southerners in general.
I have had people ask me where I am from and I always start with I was born in Alabama. They say I dont look like it and I ask what should I look like a possum?
