I find the "White trash" comments between SEC schools to be silly. There are fans of every SEC school that engage in behaviors many would not be proud of (using whatever criteria one might choose). There are Alabama fans who live in mobile homes. I say, "So what?" I welcome them as long as they are cheering for the Tide. There are Ole Miss fans who have cars on blocks in their front yards. So be it. I expect them to cheer for the Rebels and refuse to denigrate them for their poverty. "Class" (a term much bandied about) has much more to do with character than socio-economic status.

I try to make it to several "away" games per year. At least 99% of the Bama fans I see in enemy territory are the best people in the world and make you proud to pull for the same team they do. However, that 1% is shameful...regardless of school. I think most people on this board tend to keep such isolated incidents in perspective. I think it is safe to say that the people involved in death threats have a lot deeper issues than the school they happen to pull for in athletic events. |

I wish Southerners would stop denigrating each other with terms like "white trash" - "trailer park trash" - "toothless" - "inbred," etc. It serves no purpose other than to reinforce the false image others have of us. Dang, it's bad enough to have to put up with it from those outside the South, we shouldn't be eating our own.
Needless to say, I detest Jeff Foxworthy.

I think ole sis & uga do not get enough credit for having the worst game day idiot fans in the conference. I have been to every stadium in the SEC and those 2 places are the only ones that I thought I would have to fight going into and leaving the stadium. The ole sis game I attended, circa '95 was a bottle throwing fest. One of my buddies took a hot dog to the back of the head. If it had been a Denny Dog I might have followed the 5 second rule & eaten it. Those that are going have a safe trip & yell your lungs raw.RTR!

And what has not been mentioned in this thread is... Did anyone else notice what the Tide fan was wearing for his TV interview? Was this his everyday clothes or did he dress for the occasion? I know I am just as bad as he is by talking about his attire.

His username on youtube is "jtbowtie" so I'm assuming he thinks he's quite cute and fashionable in his garish outfit.
He's wrong, of course, but that's likely why he's dressed that way. I thought the video was funny. Too bad some fans are taking it so seriously.
