Well with a great weekend of football (SEC football – the national match-ups stink) I have decided to plan my menu of food and football. Something had to give between getting the perfect compliment of food for a game and my cholesterol, so I have rescheduled my internist for January…
Auburn at Arkansas on ESPN @ 11:00
Wow this game is even earlier than the normal SEC game of the week. While everybody expects a high scoring affair given the porous nature of both defenses, I do feel Auburn may get off to a very sluggish start. They have played night games exclusively up to this point. Having an early start, on the road really makes me think Auburn may not wake up until the second quarter or after halftime. Still this could be an entertaining game that requires some pork in the meal. Sausage with peppers and onions, sound good but this is an early enough game that I think sneaking in some pancakes, sausage and maple syrup is the way to go.
Georgia at Tennessee on SEC Network @ 11:20
What does it say about this weekend that this game is the fourth best conference game of the weekend? Or what does it say about these teams that this is the fourth best game of the weekend? While watching UT implode is always enjoyable, this is not a game with a lot of reasons to watch unless Georgia’s defense can recapture some of that Arkansas magic or the late game heroics from LSU. If they can repeat that performance, then watching the immovable object (Jonathon Crompton) versus the irresistible force (Georgia defense) could hold the attention in a train wreck sort of way. Either way, this game is worth only a bag of boiled peanuts.
Kentucky at South Carolina on FS South/ Houston at Mississippi St. on ESPNU @ 11:30
Watching your next opponent is always worth a look, especially if they are playing the team you just beat. But still this match up barely raises the pulse in basketball, much less football. Scanning the SC female fans & cheerleaders for the double entendres is I guess something. The Houston-MSU game might have more points than the Auburn-Arkansas game. But if we are down to these games already, with the other choices on, clearly it is time for Sam Adams.
Alabama at Mississippi on CBS 2:30
Well this game had filet mignon written all over it until Ole Miss played like…well they played like who they always play like, Ole Miss. The key matchup for me in this game I think will be Jerrel Powe vs William Vlachos. Powe has been really coming on. If Vlachos can neutralize him, or we can game plan around him, I believe Alabama will comfortably win this game. But what food goes with this game, now that steak is off the table? Well when you say Alabama and Mississippi, you think of the Deep South. Nothing says Deep South like good fried chicken and sweet tea. Man I wish that game was on right now so I could start eating…
Florida at LSU on CBS 7:00
Will he? Won’t he? No, I am not talking about Tebow playing, I am talking about putting A-1 Bold and Spicy on the rib eye this game deserves (not sure Les Miles can be in a Filet Mignon game). As for Tebow playing, I think Florida is better off sitting him. Play cautious with his health, and take some of the pressure off the game. Provides a built in escape hatch for Florida, which may in turn allow the players to relax a little more during the game. Of course, that goes out the window if Brantley does a Jarrett Lee impression for the LSU faithful. Still without Tebow, Florida has enough talent to win this game and they should do just that.
Well, I guess there has to be a thread about almost everything...

Outlaw ... that was pretty creative and entertaining.
You must have one heck of a food budget, eh?
Make sure you at least get an adequate source of fiber, bro!

Fiber One cereal does wonders, the sticks that is. Also the Fiber One bars and Toaster Pastries are good. Not too big of a fan of the pancake mix and have not tried the muffin mix...... Posted via Mobile Device
I will be in Newnan, GA visiting my Godson for his birthday, Can't wait to watch all the games on my BIL's 55 inch HD set.

I wish I had smoked a Boston butt for the games tomorrow, but it's too late now. Takes too long; I'd be up till 3:00 AM now. I'll just settle for whatever the little wife fixes.
