Pretty wide ranging interview. We're blessed with this kind of player on our team.
Unselfish, and nothing but praise and optimism for all those around him.
We got something special going on here.

I knew Greg was good, but he’s really surpassed my expectations for him. He’s doing such a great job of managing the offense, making good decisions and controlling the game. I have a lot of respect for him and am real happy for him that he’s playing this well. He just controls that huddle, keeps everybody level-headed and is probably at his best when things go wrong. I’m glad we’ve got him.
I haven't seen anything but good come from Mark Ingram. He like many others understand the concept of a team playing as a team. RTR
That was a great read, thanks for posting GulfCoastTider. My favorite part was this:
What’s a side of Saban that not everybody sees?
MI:Everybody sees coach Saban when he’s yelling or when he’s mad. But coach Saban really just wants the best for you, not only as a football player, but as a person. He wants you to be successful in whatever you’re doing, and he’s like that with all his players no matter where you are on the depth chart or how much you’ve played. A lot of people just see that intense side, but he’s a real good person.
That is what makes Coach Saban the great coach that he is, and that is why despite all of the negative press he has gotten in the past, most of his former players express a great deal of gratitude that they got the chance to play for him. He's a lot like Coach Bryant in that regard, if y'all will allow me to compare, if only for that brief moment.

Glad y'all enjoyed it. I did too.
A lot of barners though, remain convinced that morale sucks on the team and that Saban is not well liked by his players (hence the offseason "attrition.")
Saw one post on another board to that effect just yesterday.

I gladly allow them to continue in their mistaken beliefs.
The attrition happens with all great coaches, and all great programs. (Heck, it happens at all programs, really). The barners, as usual, see what they want to see.
Ingram and Cody are easily my 2 favorite players on the team.
Cody is the DT equivalent of a young Brett Favre. It's rare to see a guy that happy to be playing football.
I know everyones goo-goo for Richarson right now, but I like the way Ingram came in and took care of business from day 1. He's gonna go far with his quiet demeanor and his work ethic.
"Kicking it" = Guy trying to sound cool...
"Kickin' it" = What Low was trying to say, I think.
Sorry... Sort of a pet peeve, even though I don't know that it is technically incorrect in any way. Kind of like saying, "What is up?" instead of "What's up?"... or "What are you talking about, Willis?" instead of "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"
Anyway, yeah, Mark seems like a good guy. I'd guess there are several defenders around the country who may disagree when Ingram makes them look silly on national TV.
Thanks for posting...nice read.
Mark Ingram has been one of favorite players since I watched his commitment footage, and you could just tell he was so excited about coming to BAMA. He seems to be just an all-around great representative of the BAMA football program.

I like to try and post the way I talk - "I'd've," for example...
