I admit that I haven't seen every Tebow game, but in the ones I have watched, I never saw him rip off his helmet while he was a player on the field. Now, he is a very emotional guy but I don't see him as trying to draw attention to himself.
My wife is a gator, so I see all of their games. And yes, Timmy has ripped his helmet off on the field several times over the last 2 years. That is a fact.

Not sure I understand the anti-Tebow stuff here. He seems to be an awesome player, an upright citizen and he whipped our behinds last year with a couple of perfect passes when only perfect passes would have done the job. Now, I am no gator fan but I don't know how you can take anything away from the kid. He has earned every accolade IMO
... and if we take care of business, we may get another chance to knock him off his pedestal in Atlanta. I want his halo unblemished when we do that. btw ... anybody heard anything out of Gino (Christ) Torreta lately?

Last I heard, GT was STILL looking over his shoulders for Copeland and Curry.

Its not so much TT as it is the medias love affair with him. And the Fla fans who think he does no wrong (like my son ). I admire TT for his strong Christian beliefs and talent.

In neither one of those pictures was he a player on the field during game time, in both the SECCG and after UF scored the final TD v Okla, Tim paced the sidelines and exhorted the defense or ST or the crowd, but they were during TV timeouts with the clock stopped...
It is certainly not a penalty to have your helmet off when you aren't even one of the 11 players in the game, nor is it a penalty to cheer your team from the sidelines or exhort the crowd to get loud...
I think I see some Tebow-envy on here, and it aint pretty...
Now I can remember several times where Tebow has gotten a first down and come off the ground all fired up and either head butted his OL or waved his arm at the crowd to get loud, but those were all last year and maybe flags should have been thrown then but they weren't...he hasn't done it this year, I think he knows the refs were trying to crack down on it so maybe he stopped...
It doesn't really matter if it is a TV Timeout - if John Parker Wilson sprints full speed down the field an ends up in the endzone on the field jumping up and down - it is a penalty (case in point: the 'call me' gesture to lsu fans both did, only one got a penalty). So can they do all the taunting and drawing attention to themselves as long as it is a commercial break? I was at the SEC Champ. game and saw plenty of it. (like Spikes Gator Chomp in our players faces). believe me no Tebow envy here. he gets away with stuff others don't - and seeing some of this antics in person - made me question the 'humbleness' that he tries to exude. i liked the guy a lot at first. And some of my annoyance with him is the media's fault - but some isn't.

That's the kind of football team we want."

yeah, and i bet some of those guys though they would NEVER admit it probably, just want to tell him to shut-up.
i'm sure one of these pictures below is probably from when he was racing down field to play to the fans in the endzone... if not, all appear to be on field, helmet off, drawing attention to himself.
