Top five worst broadcasters..
Bob "Who Cares" Davies, Bill "I'm an idiot" Curry, Vern Toungtwist, Lou "You can't understand a Word" Holtz and because we have to be politically correct I will throw in Holly "Can you see my cleavage" Roe
Note to announcers, give me a game experience. Tell me who made the run who made the tackle, where the ball is, what down it is. During timeouts fill in with some color stuff such as did you know Alabama has never had a heisman winner. Before the game learn how to pronounce players names, have a cheat sheet if needed with it pronounced phonetically for you. If you need help there should be a guy off screen with a computer that can give you a hand.
Wish they would turn the radio on and put a mic up to it so we can listen to Eli lol. Thee have been times where I actually mute TV and listen to him. Besides the slight delay its great

Someone who quits jinxing the tide, such as bragging that ingram hasn't fumbled the ball in 322 rush attempts and suddenly he does. I do believe in the jinx!!
Kinda off topic, but does anyone remember back in 2005 when we played Florida. Chris Leak hadn't thrown an interception in seems like forever. The announcer gave us that little nugget of information, and on the very next play, BOOM, interception. I believe in jinxs too!!!
And we sure as heck don't need an announcer that feels like he just has to throw in that "so and so's father is presently incarcerated." The most classless comment I've ever heard.

You mean Verne Jr. ? While I have tremendous respect for Franklin , I believe ESPN made the right choice when they demoted him . Ron had been slipping a lot and I would never want to have to remember him as another Pat Summerall or Verne Lundquist . JOMHO
I want to know when a mistake is made it is not from either (1) a lack of preparation or (2) dimensia . Joel Meyers calls B12 games for Fox and retains a TON of information . In the middle of plays he can squeeze in height & weight , the players class & where they're from , etc. . He has a quick enough mind that ... well , here's an example - "Smith , looking to air it out agin ...... targets Brown for the 8th time today and this , their 5th connection , provides a new set of downs for team-X after a gain of 14 on the play . Smith , a 4th year junior from blah , blah , is now 13 out of 22 for for 193 yards to this point , 6:39 remaining , 3rd quarter ." . He's not a charismatic PBP man - far from it . He's a pure old-school announcer - and a good one at just that . Meyers is also the new man in the box for the Lakers .

When can we just come to peace with the reality that game announcers, game officials and the national media are just intentionally trying to make us all cranky?
Sheesh, people. Maybe it's not so much them as it's us.
I like Herbstreit as color guy, but not sure if any current play by play guys in college game are worthy. Joe Buck is probably best out there right now.
To be honest, I really don't pay very much attention to any of them unless they are really great (Keith Jackson) or really bad (Howard Cosell), to use a couple of guys mentioned earlier. I always felt like Jackson understood and appreciated the college atmosphere and did what he could to bring that across. He was also very knowledgeable of the game. Cosell was just annoying.
I do find Vern and Gary annoying because they are unprofessional, IMHO. When they don't even know how to pronounce the names of the players, they're not getting the job done. That indicates they're spending too much time preparing their "special interest" stories and not enough time on the basics. Or they just don't really care. Either way, they should be replaced.
After hearing Danielson on the PFB show, I like him. The he gets back on TV and I can't stand him all over again. I have realized have been way to critical of people who have very little effect on my life.

There were many flaws with the announcers in last weeks game. Did you notice at the beginning of the game, while they were having headset troubles, one of them commented that they didnt know if they could stand to hear that song play over the loudspeaker again? That is completely rude and had no place being said on tv! Then take into the account of all the name mess ups, team names, the end of game fiasco, and just plain obvious bias.
I was already upset while watching, but they made it so much worse.
I would just like to see some true professionals sitting in there that seemed to take it a bit more serious. There is so much room for improvement..
