Bowden proclaiming he'll have the last say on Jimbo's DC of the future makes him look like a fool, anyone? He's already looked very foolish the past few years, but this is icing on the cake. A to tell ESPN of all things.
Wonder how Jimbo feels getting input, but basically now getting a major hire taken away from him. He would have been better off letting Andrews stay through next season, and then hiring his own OC and DC, this seems really fishy.
First, what quality DC would come to Florida State without a guarantee of a job next year? So if this is the case, shouldn't Jimbo be making the final decision, with input from Bowden?
This is going to blow up, you watch. Click Link at top, don't know how video got there.
Re: One Year Remaining Bowden says of new DC Hire "I'll make the final decision"
This shows why the head coach in waiting deal can't work. The Head Coach should make the hire not the crowned prince. However, I do understand what you're saying.

At some point doesn't T. K. Wetherell have to say that enough is enough and rein in Diddy?

He's retiring after next season? It amounts to picking Jimbo's Vice President or wife. Any sensible person working under this arrangement would have volunteered to let the coach elect, so to say, choose his coordinator.

I don't know one --not one-- FSU fan who is even remotely excited that Jimbo Fisher will probably be their next head coach. And I know a lot of FSU fans.

Given that FSU's problems seem to be a product of being handicapped by a perennial lame-duck HC, it is not to nice of Bowden to let Andrews go down in flames for the mess, after 26 years.

This sums it up pretty well for me

This is the sort of conundrum that should have been clarified when Fisher became the coach in waiting. Instead, FSU has the appearance of making things up as they go along.

You know, up to this point I have supported CBB, but this is simply not a supportable decision. CBB needs to be fired at the end of this season. His ego is out of control, and he is clearly putting it ahead of FSU...

It might be Jimbo's future wife, but Diddy has to sleep with her first.

FSU's ordeal is smelling more and more like that movie "Weekend at Bernies". They have a coach they can't run off, and the next guy is a coach few are truly excited about. 1993 it is not.
