It's about 4.5 miles in and out by White Oak Hollow. I usually count 1 mph with the kids on trail, but this is mostly off trail. 5 hrs of hiking plus 1 hr at the tree, plus two hours total travel time = departure at 5:30. That's about normal for me, but I'd have mutiny on the bounty with the kiddos. Sat might be a better bet

i bet they would nap through the game though
PS, Were I in your shoes, I'd take a hammock along with the radio and cooler. I spent Sunday afternoon in the yard a couple weeks back in my camping hammock. It was wonderful
The only problem he still faces with slingbox, he has to have internet. I myself, have t-mobile, the Blackberry Curve, with internet access, I use my phone as a wireless modem, have had slingbox connected to cable in the past, and watched live TV in the car. That is the easiest fix, I have since went with Direct TV fulltime now, I haven't connected my slingbox yet, so still without live tv in the car, oh well, that is why I have a satellite dish in my camper I just will live with that for the time being.
But like TIDE PRIDE IN GA said the sling box really works in a jam, sometimes the picture is a little is a little choppy( you are streaming video) you can watch it from anywhere you have internet access

GCT, the only problem I have with that is, all of my TV's are hanging on walls. UGGHHH!!
I'll figure something out. I'd prefer to stay by the camp site and watch it. However, I can always drive about 20 minutes and go to the local sports bar.
Take yourself to the local pawnshop. There, you will likely find a TV with a digital tuner for less than $100. Add $100 for the antenna, and another $100 or so for the toprail, coax and any adapters you might need.
I did the same thing last year, and still have everything just in case I get marooned in the middle of nowhere again. BTW, I didn't even have power. I used the company's generator to keep the beer cold and the TV on. I bought the beer and gas, though.

yep, this is my favorite time of year to be out in the woods, especially right at dusk
the forest for the first few miles north of porter's is really nice. if you stay on the pinhoti, there are some really lush forests about 12-15 miles in.
luckily, most weekends this year, i've been able to get out and play in the woods in the morning then get back for the games.
On Bama and LSU weekends? Oh well!
