I'm going camping this weekend with some friends. Needless to say, I'm not going to miss this game. Truthfully, if we were playing Hoover High, I wouldn't miss it. Nevertheless, I'm needing some advice.
I have XM Radio in my vehicle and I can pick it up from that and listen to Eli. As much as I enjoy the Bama radio broadcasts, it's just not the same as seeing it.
I can, of course, drive about 30 minutes and find a sports bar to watch the game. But in truth, what I really want is, to be able to watch the game at my camp site.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can pick this game up on a TV feed while out camping? The camp site isn't in an obscure place, so any satellite suggestions would be appreciated. I'll spare no expense (within reason) to be able to watch the game without having to go to a sports bar and miss out on camping time with friends.
Thanks in advance!

Since the game is on CBS you shouldn't need a satellite. You may need an antenna and you'll need either an HDTV or a converter box since the US gubmint followed their constitutional mandate and required all networks to broadcast only in HD.

Since the site I'll be camping in has electrical, I've thought about bringing my laptop and watching through ESPN 360. The question is, obviously there won't be any wi-fi. Aren't there hi-speed cards for internet? If so, which would I need to get?
**EDIT** Since it's on CBS, it's not live on 360. Crud! Any other sites where it will be broadcast live?

All you'll need is a television with a digital tuner and a decent antenna. Depending on the remoteness of your location, you may be able to get by with a set-top antenna. But I would recommend going to RadioShack and buying an AntennaCraft HD, starting at $100 or so. You will also need one to two sections of galvanized fence toprail to elevate it, and enough coaxial cable to reach the TV. If you buy two 20' sections of toprail, you'll need about 60' of coax (40' to span the "tower" and another 20' to reach wherever you'll be watching.
I did exactly the same thing for last year's Iron Bowl, as I was stuck in the middle of nowhere Louisiana, working. The whole set up cost me about $300, but I didn't miss a single, sweet play of that 36-0 beatdown.

GCT, the only problem I have with that is, all of my TV's are hanging on walls. UGGHHH!!
I'll figure something out. I'd prefer to stay by the camp site and watch it. However, I can always drive about 20 minutes and go to the local sports bar.

If you have a laptop, the game will almost certainly be available via justin.tv. If you use a blackberry or other similar device, see if it can be used to tether. I use this feature to connect my laptop to the internet through mt blackberry very often. Only costs me $15/mo thru Verizon, but it is free with some services (like T-Mobile). Of course, you will need a decent wireless connection for that to help.
I have also used a slingbox, but I don't do that much anymore. Most games that I want to watch can be found on justin.tv...

i will be in the middle of the talladega national forest listening to eli.
Where about?
I'm usually pretty quick to give up a live 3 hr football game for a 3 day campout. I'd DVR it and not think twice about it. Have fun on your campout JAG.

And y'all call yourselves Bama fans!!! You do know that this is LSU we're talking about - not UT-C or FIU, right? Your priorities are all messed up!
