It will be curious if this is handled only by the staff or is there an outside investigation going to take place. Underage drinking and assualt are not minor things to overlook. CLK can criticise the SEC refs and the fans can criticise the SEC for the way they dealt with Spikes, but this is far worse in my opinion. Combine that with the rumors on the UT boards of Nuke transferring and now M Teague might also be unhappy, doesn't bode well for that freshman class.
UThug continues I guess. Don't think Janzen Jackson has even been there 6 months, probably hasn't completed his first semester of school. Good thing he is super talented huh?

Underage drinking, yes. Assault...not sure where that is coming from. I take it you are assuming this since I posted that I heard there was an incident. I don't know what happened, I haven't seen anything yet about this other than message board rumors and Hubbs confirming that he expects an announcement of the suspension today.
An 18/19 year old drinking on a college campus is far worse than trying to gouge a players eyes out? Really?....if Jackson was driving, I agree. If he was consuming alcohol and walking, I disagree.

I agree...But, you havent seen the off-the-field troubles that UT has had in the past few years, and when they are some (even something minor like this), Kiffin is taking quick action...And, it has shown on the field...I remember a roughing the passer on Dan Williams against Auburn (which was very questionable anyhow), and there was a facemask against Berry in the SC game...Other than that, I dont remember any late hits or stupid fouls all year long (note-I have a 3-year old and I'm older now, so I am very likely forgetting), but I think the discipline is showing on the field
Now if he could only show a little self-discipline when he's behind a microphone.

I said it regarding the rumors from your boards. They all state that he was drinking and trying to leave the bar with a beer. The bouncer told him no and he still tried. According to the UT faithful he pushed the bouncer and the bouncer grabbed a chain of his. It sounds like the bar doesn't want to get him in trouble because he plays for UT, so it looks doubtful that he will get in trouble with the police. Again criticise CUM, but this kid broke the law outside of the football field, but will get covered up and protected by CLK because he plays fb at UT.
It is the coaches and athletic department's concern to deal with issues regarding a player during the game or practice. Off the campus at a bar on the strip the police are the authority not CLK.

I agree it is not CLKs authority off the field. Had me or you done anything to the bouncer, him and a couple of other bouncers would have whipped us and sent us on our way.
The bar had the chance to call the cops an apparently they chose not too.
I think kicking people out is much more common than calling the cops to arrest people.
Outside of Hubbs (VolQuest) saying something was going to happen and Wes Rucker (Chattanooga Free Times) trying to confirm a suspension nothing else has come out on this issue so far today
Sigh, and we're stuck with T-Town cops who have auburn vanity tags...

I am no TN fan and I have little use for CLK and his mouth, but this is one topic I wish people would just leave alone no matter who it is. Every school has these problems and I get so tired of reading the U-thug or Fulmer cup stuff. Remember guys we had a guy rob another student on campus at gun point, we had another selling cocaine in front of the football complex. These athletes represent our society as a whole. They come from a variety of different backgrounds and they act accordingly. Again, I'm no TN fan, but if you want to look at what a coach does and how he brings up the young men in his program don't look at his first year and don't look at freshmen. Sit back and take a look at the seniors after about 3 or 4 years and then you can see what type of program he runs. If you see a bunch of trouble makers as seniors that the coach recruited and has had 4 years with, then you can claim he runs a bad program. Posted via Mobile Device
