After watching this video, there's no doubt as to where I'd be. Ain't nobody loves a daddy like a daughter loves a daddy...

Kudos to Slab.

Big A Re: Game Dilemma - LSU vs attending daughter's game

The support you give your daughter is priceless. Go to her game.

I miss lots of games because I go to Chattanooga to watch my daughter's rowing competitions.

I follow the games through cell phone updates and then watch the replay.

I'd much rather watch my daughter competing that to see a football game, even if it is Bama. Easy choice, when you think about it a little bit.
When I made my initial response, I didn't realize that my daughter was actually rowing in Chattanooga this weekend..

So, here I am in Chattanooga right now. Will have a great day watching her competing very hard (she says she gets it from her daddy) in tomorrow's races. I love Bama, but this is flesh and blood. My chest really swells up when I see her boat coming down the stretch and they are giving all they've got! I'll catch Bama/LSU on replay. I could never try to explain to her that a Bama football game was more important to me than watching her (and of course, it isn't).

ROLL TIDE!

Ok...my whole family thinks I'm crazy now. That little girl's response made me cry.

In some ways I agree with SavannahDare, but I totally understand what you are saying.

My Dad did a lot of things wrong (as my mother constantly reminds me), but I remember the things he did right with me. My daughter would give anything in the world to be made a priority to her father just once. However, she's very lucky to have a step-father who fills that void. I have no idea what I would recommend as a solution to the dilemma.

On a lighter note, I have a similar dilemma next weekend. As secretary of the PTSA, I'm supposed to be chaperoning a dance next Saturday. It was scheduled on Saturday instead of Friday to keep it from interfering with our high school's football game Friday night. My husband's working on helping me come up with a way to get out of being there for the whole dance so that I don't miss the whole game.

Re: Game Dilemma

[QUOTE=timmer0911;1177302]I know exactly what you mean.....my daughter is playing fall softball and their end of the year tournament is this weekend. It's double elimination and the championship game is set for around 4:15. I guess since I'm pitching, I could always throw em a few change-ups or bust em inside, high and tight
Nah, I hope that we're there all day and win it all.....I have my whole life to watch Bama play, but my 4 little girls will only be with me a short time.
WOW, I just teared up a lil bit there......I'm just not sure if it's for my daughters or cause I might miss the biggest game of the year [/Q3UOTE]

2 years ago I coached 12U with my daughters travel ball team, we were playing the Vols and were in Franklin, TN, I took my RV Satellite tripod, a 20" TV and a Honda generator, did not miss a snap, best investments I have ever made, Football and Softball, Daughters and Bama, just got to think ahead. Most of the Dads were under the popup canopy when they could be, thank goodness we were in between games, in the winners bracket.

Re: Game Dilemma - LSU vs attending daughter's game

Well, I missed the whole 1st half, but I wouldn't have traded a single minute. We played well and finished in second place....both of our losses were to the tournament champs. I still got to watch the second half and I was there for my daughter too, so it was a win/win for me!!!
Great 2nd half.......RTR!!!
