Be a helluva season opener in Dallas. It is a lose/lose situation but a loss in first game of the season on a neutral field for Bama would be overcome by this point of the season...see Oregon (before this was originally posted) this season. I say shut the 'Blue Field Bums' up.

Someone talks about BSU beating Oregon like that is something. Oregon lost to the smurfs, beat a overrated USC, and is getting manhandled by Stanford right now. Would I play them, sure, but they need to come to our house if they want the game. The SEC is not the PAC-10, and just because you have one good game, doesn't mean you will do it every weekend.
Now I give them credit for wanting to toughen their schedule to help their BCS cause. I also agree if they go undefeated they deserve a BCS spot, especially when Notre Dame is getting consideration and does not deserve it.
The main problem here is not the teams but the conferences. I think the big 6 conferences in charge of the BCS do not want these non BCS teams to start scheduling NC games with BCS teams. If they start winning them they have a legit arguement that their schedule and wins not only merit a BSC spot but a possible conference automatic. These conferences do not want them in and mainly because it gives an opportunity to put two teams in and control the money pay out. So I do not think it is the coaches or schools, but the conference powers to be.
I guess teams like Oregon and Tulane wearing green would have the same problem blending in with a green field. Silly arguement. If the Boise players blended into the field so much would Kellen Moore, Boise's QB, have a hard time finding his receivers?
It's much more than just the blue field. The walls surrounding the field are also the same color of blue, 6 or 7 feet high. With that said, Boise is an extremely well coached team and they run what they run extremely well, but if I were a coach, I would not want to play them at Boise.
I have no problem with Bama playing a home game against BSU. But I would NOT NOT NOT agree to a home-and-home series with them. I have a real problem with the blue field & blue uniforms racket. Since opposing teams have no experience playing teams whose uniforms blend with the playing field, it's a tremendous and IMO unfair home field advantage for BSU. Sorta' like if Army painted their field camouflage green and wore camouflage uniforms.
I'd also be OK with a home-and-neutral-site game with 'em. The neutral site could be Atlanta or Dallas or NYC or whatever the admins agreed to. But we should NEVER agree to a game on the blue field.
According to the article, their athletic director said he would be ok with playing one game at their opponets stadium and it does not have to be a home/home, so they would just come to Tuscaloosa and we would not have to go there.
Didn't Boise get spanked by Georgia a few years ago?
Personally, I think it is easy for one of these teams to get "up" for a major game against a good opponent-I think we learned that against Utah. However, I would love to see us answer that call. Also, I would have no problem going to Boise...I think the blue field would be more of a problem for the home team with their blue unis. As long as we are wearing our white unis, who cares??
I'd put our D up against anyone...

I wouldn't be totally opposed, but we have to travel to Penn St in 2011 and have Florida on the schedule, our schedule will be pretty tough.
Now if it were Utah... do it.
Another thing. I like that Boise realizes its important to get a big opponent, and they need to do this with 2 teams you'd expect to be top 20 each year. I mean they expect to go undefeated and go to a championship game playing just teams like Oregon and winning 1 big game?
We have learned our lesson from Utah. Boise would get beat down by the Tide, of this I have no doubt. I wonder what schools they have reached out to about playing a game at their home field. I can not see many elite teams turning down Boise under those circumstances. I think this rumor is a pr move by Boise to enhance their chances of getting in to a big game this year. If this is true, that they have reached out to all these teams, they should be naming the teams that turned them down.
