re: If Bama losses to Auburn, but beats Florida (learn to complete sentences)

That would mean a one-loss SEC team over a TCU, Cincy, etc.

Based on the past few years, the answer would have to be yes.

Having said that, I hope we take all the if's, and's and but's out of it, starting Friday.

Yes. I've seen several scenarios discussed by the talking heads and most of them believe that a one-loss SEC champ would still be able to end up in the BCSCG.

On one site, the writer said that Ole Miss' victory over LSU actually makes it more likely that Bama could recover from a loss to Auburn than could Florida from a loss to FSU if they turned around and made up for the loss with a victory in the SECCG. LSU is basically Florida's top win for this season to date and the only current top 25 team that they've beaten. With Ole Miss returning to the top 25, Bama has victories over 3 current top-25 teams.

I am sure someone in the athletic dept realizes this Friday is not a travel day. Mute point.

I really don't even want to contemplate the consequences of a loss to MooU. The thought alone makes me feel ill...

I have heard the same thing as well. I do agree 100% with your assessment!

btw, if Leslie's tigahs can do it with 2 losses, why not the Mighty Tide??

There was only one team in the 2007 polls with fewer than 2 losses and that was Kansas who lost their conference championship game to Oklahoma who had 3 losses. It was just that kind of a year. 2009 will not produce that kind of crazy matchup for the championship game.

Re: If Bama losses to Auburn, but beats Florida (learn to complete sentences)

I have trouble seeing Auburn as being anything but a clear looser in this game. It's true they have nothing to loose, but equally true that we have too much to loose to do anything except trounce them.
(Think last year but a better Tide team)

If you're going to correct him for incomplete sentences, you might also want to point out the difference between "loses" and "losses".

And maybe "lose" and "loose"...
