Unhappy "Copy Protection" on a DVR recorded game???

Share

I own an HD DVR through DirecTV. From last season, I have saved the Clemson, UGA, LSU, AU, and SECCG - which have been hogging a large portion of my DVR hard drive. With the new season upon us, I finally located a DVD burner that I could borrow, and started to download these games to DVD to free up some space.

I started with the UGA game (ESPN broadcast) which went off without a hitch. Next, I tried the Iron Bowl (CBS broadcast) and some time during the second quarter the DVD burner kicked out with a message similar to "Copy Protection Signal Detected - Cannot Proceed with Recording"!!

Are all of my CBS broadcasts going to be copy protected? Is there a work-around solution so I can get these games off my DVR without losing them completely?

Thanks,
UAME

Not entirely sure bout dvr, but you could always old school it. Run your feed through a VHS machine first and then to your tv. VHS records anything, and then find a dvd/vhs combo to play the vhs you record and burn it with the dvd burner. I have Heard this would work.
