Article Best store bought barbeque sauce

DiggThis

I've tried a number of them over the years but my fav's:

1. McIlhenny Farms (the folks that make Tabasco)-their sauce is so thick, you could pave roads with it and it has a nice bite to it.

2. John Boy and Billy's-has a unique flavor from other sauces.

3. Country's Barbeque-Columbus, Auburn and Opelika. Pretty hot but VERY good.

OK, let's have it. Who do you think has the best store (or restaurant) bought sauce out there?

Note

If you're talking strictly store bought, premade sauce, my favorites(so far) would have to be:

1) Stubbs Mild BBQ sauce--a little spicy for mild, but good; reminds me of Texas BBQ
2) Jack Daniels Grilling sauce, hickory flavor--I use it on chicken and ribs
3) Dreamland sauce--if you live near T-town and you're up to going over to Jerusalem Heights and willing to fork over 4-5 bucks, then you can buy a quart of the famous vinegary stuff that's good with any grilled out pork or chicken

When I think store bought BBQ sauce, my hands mostly home in on KC Masterpiece. Bull's Eye and Sweet Baby Ray's get second choice if the KCM shelf is empty.

John Boy and Billy's is the best I've ran across in the grocery stores, but unfortunately Publix no longer carries it. Jack Daniels is a pretty close second though.

We go to Sonny's BBQ whenever we're in Panama City. I bought a large bottle of Sonny's BBQ sauce the last time I was in Sam's. It's right good.

Re: Best store bought barbeque sauce

Had to resurrect this thread. A friend smoked a butt this weekend for the Bama game and had purchased "Gates" BBQ sauce. I didn't think it was bad at all. It's a Kansas City based sauce and had a good "bite" to it.

Gates BBQ Sauce -- he found it at the local grocery store

I have to import BBQ sauces LOL. I still like KC Masterpiece but Big Bob Gibson does mail order. So do these guys and I like their stuff a lot.

I've made my own for a few years now but if I were going to the store , I'd grab the Stubbs variety that does not have the anchovies in it .

Any of you around Columbus Ga know if Pops is still around ?

Alabama is 2- and 3-deep all over the place with full grown, meaner-than-he!! men. It's almost not fair making college kids play against them. Any Saban-coached team is going to be deep as he!! with recruits that have elite size, strength and experience at their position and they are going to play with incredible physicality.
I support PAWS.
