Super Bowl Recipes!!!

Here's a few to get us started ....

Chex Party Mix

3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1 cup pretzels
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup garlic-flavor bagel chips
6 TBSP butter or margarine
2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 tsp seasoned salt
3/4 tsp granulated garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

Melts butter in a large shallow pan, and add Worcestershire sauce. Stir in cereals, nuts, and pretzels. Sprinkle with garlic salt. Heat oven to 250 degrees, and heat mixture for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. When done spread out on paper towels and allow to cool.

Pepperoni Rolls

1 bag pre-sliced pepperoni
2-3 tubes Pillsbury Crescent rolls
1 medium bag shredded mozzarella

Unroll the crescent rolls. Put 2-3 slices of pepperoni per roll. Sprinkel cheese over pepperoni. Roll the crescent roll. Bake as instructed on tube (about 13 minutes).

Crockpot Roast French Dip Sandwich

1 beef roast
1 can beer
1 package onion soup mix

Put roast in crock pot and sprinkle with soup mix. Pour beer over top. Cook on low for about 8 hours. Cut or pull apart to make sandwiches on hard roll. Juice makes an excellent dip.

Four Layer Chocolate Delight

1 cup Flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup Margarine
8 oz Cream cheese
1 cup Cool Whip
1 cup Powdered sugar
6 oz Instant chocolate pudding
3 cup Milk

Directions:

Mix flour, pecans and margarine and press in oblong pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Mix cream cheese, Cool Whip and powdered sugar and pour over first layer. Mix pudding, milk and pour on second layer. Spread Cool Whip over the third layer

I have always loved homemade chex mix and my recipe is almost exactly the same as yours. As a personal preference though, I use less wheat chex (don't really like em') and more rice chex and corn chex. I also use a small can of mixed nuts, a can of cashews, a can of toasted pecans, and sometimes a jar of macadamia nuts. We store it in 1 galllon zip lock bags. Anytime we need a snack for guests this is one of the things we reach for.

Also I sometimes use goldfish pretzels, goldfish cheddar cheese, plain goldfish mix with the cereal and nuts. I love goldfish.

The crockpot french dip sounds good. What's a crockpot? Just kidding, but I don't own a crockpot so I guess I will have to just slow cook it on top of the stove in a big pot.

I'll pass on the chex mix--an acquired taste I've never acquired!--but the pepperoni rolls & the french dip thing sound great. Thanks!
BTW, we still use my Granny's crockpot; Granny died over 20 years ago.
We tend to eat a lot of popcorn during the Super Bowl, plus some chicken wings. The (cough) "recipe" (cough) is this: put wings in a big casserole dish. Pour large quantities of hot sauce over them. Cook them slowly in the oven. Eat large quantities of them. You know you've gotten the hot sauce right when you have to reach for the milk to cool off the taste buds, and for a napkin to wipe the sweat under your eyes.
