Heath candy bars

Share

1 pkg. chocolate morsels (12 oz)
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 pkg. saltine crackers (1/4 section of large box)
1/4 c. chopped nuts
Line a 9 x 11 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Coarsely crush saltines and spread evenly in baking pan. Combine butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan and cook over medium high heat until mixture becomes frothy and stirring constantly (about 3 to 5 minutes). Remove from heat and pour hot mixture evenly over crushed crackers. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over top and place in 350 oven for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven and with spatula gently spread softened chips evenly. Top with nuts and let it cool. Once cooled, slice or break into serving pieces.

HEATH BARS

1 pkg. saltine crackers (1/4 box) 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 sticks margarine semi-sweet
1 c. brown sugar

Line a cookie sheet with foil. Turn edges of foil up. Crush crackers (coarse); spread in foil. Boil for 3 minutes margarine and brown sugar (until sugar is melted). Pour this mixture over cracker crumbs. Bake for 5 minutes in 400 degree oven. Put chocolate chips on top. Let set for a couple of minutes (chips will start to melt, can put back into oven to melt). Spread. Let cool. Break into pieces and store in container in fridge.
(You could leave the crackers whole and place them side by side and also add crushed nuts on top.)
