TOP CHEF Week 5 winner & loser

Share

The judges were split this week. Those getting top consideration were DrBama, TheOysterMan, rolltideroll202, derek4tide and WAW4tide. The person getting the lowest score was unanimous.

LCN please pack your knives.

DrBama we loved your dish but one of the judges made your slaw and was unimpressed. WAW4tide we had tacos last week. OysterMan we loved your idea but here was the problem, if you had ground up the meat and made a proper slider we all would have loved it but one issue was what did you do with all the meat trimmings? You were very close OysterMan. Another thought from the judges is no one tried to make a desert with the Karo, a golden opportunity missed. derek4tide, two of us liked your recipe enough to declare you the winner this week and give you immunity. Congratulations.

I will say this in regards to the dessert idea. i made the tacos simply because i knew they were good and safe after a failed experiment with making a breakfast dish. The idea was to country fry some steak slices but to use a french toast batter. It was an attempt to make a sweet something but in the end savory was just the more practical route. Needless to say it didn't work out and you got tacos.

That sounds interesting. I remember my mother making pancakes and serving thin sliced pork or beef tenderloin that had been heavily peppered and pan fried. It was delicious. I poured a lot of Karo over pancakes in my life.

Yes, Yes in hind sight, I should have ground up the meat. D'oh! Great recipes this week though, and very happy to be moving on ...

I didn't expect that this week. There were great recipes again this week and very tough competition.
