I think it sounds great, but that's been the two responses I've had from people...there has been no in between. Either it sounds great, or it sounds awful!
I love blackberries and I love cornbread.....but not together. But, hey, that's me.

I think of cornbread as a savory dish. When you put berries in with flour or cornmeal I think cake. Sorry but think I will pass on the blackberry cornbread.
I would probably be good if you made thin cakes like pancakes (johnny cakes) for breakfast with some blackberry syrup.

Back in my working years I had the pleasure of eating lunch inside some of the plants I had crews working in. One plant in particular had some of the finest cooks I can remember and one particular maintenance shop had a machinist who was once an army cook who cooked a hot meal for almost everyone every day. He put out a hot plate lunch, usually meat and 2 or 3 vegetables and desert, that any cafe or truck stop would be proud to serve to customers and he did it for $3 a plate. But he did make sweet cornbread and it was cooked in a baking pan not skillet and cut in squares not wedges. It was pretty good but I do prefer savory Southern Skillet Cornbread to that.
Blackberry cornbread? Uhhh, I don't know about that one Bamanut. Tell you what -- you cook it and let us know how it was! Think I'll stick with my traditional southern c/b!
