Cole Slaw

I pkg cole slaw mix
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonaise
1/4 cup buttermilk
11/2 tbsp. white vinegar
21/2 tbsp. lemon juice

Combine all ingredients, whisk until smooth pour over cabbage mixture. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. We use low fat milk, buttermilk and mayo.

1 head of cabbage grated
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup mayonaise
salt and pepper to taste

Mix well and let marinate in fridge. My have to adjust mayo and condensed milk to taste. Graet with fried catfis and hushpuppies.

I'll give that one a try Aden, we sometime put chopped Jalapenos in ours.

The last few years I have started grating a bulb or two of fennel into my cole slaw. It adds a little twist to the flavor we like. Occasionally I also add one or two green apples and or carrots shredded into the slaw and I make a dressing much like ddsmit's. It is a great side dish with fish, chicken or pork.
