Grilling with cedar plank?

Share

Question on this before I try it. I know to soak the planks for an hour or two before using them (I'll be grilling fish). Should this be cooked on direct or indirect heat? Should I put some type of oil on the plank so the fish doesn't stick?

I have done salmon this way. I don't remember the salmon sticking. I used direct heat on my propane grill. I also use a meat thermometer when I grill, and I usually like my salmon around 130-135 degrees.

Re: Grilling with cedar plank?

The fish will not stick to the plank. You can use some oil to help seasoning stick but not necessary. Cook over direct heat covered.
