Big A Gameday Menu- VT

Share

So unfortunately, I have to work till 5pm so I'm not going to cook a lavish spread for tonights game. I'm just doing my infamous tex-mex dip & heading over a friends house where the main meal for the game is TACO SOUP? Please, let me live vigoursly though ya'll & tell me what are you preparing and think of me as I sip on my soup.

Bayou, what's the menu for today?

Re: Gameday Menu- VT

Nothing fancy here everyone wanted BBQ so i got out cheap this time around (12-14 under thirty bucks)
Got a 10 lb pork tenderloin that's been soaking up some rub all night, I'll smoke it for 4 hours then wrap in tin foil and let tenderize another hour. Sides are fresh cut fries cooked in peanut oil and homemade baked beans with chopped pork.

Big A Re: Gameday Menu- VT

1 turkey (used a dry rub from the Top Chef contest, can't wait to try it) in the smoker since 4:00am. Burgers and dogs on the grill @ 6:00pm. Signature cole slaw, grilled sweet potato fries, cucumber salsa, mango salsa, my mexican salsa, fried green tomatoes, and grilled angus/bay scallops (local)/Gulf shrimp (local) kabobs with fresh red peppers and Vidalia onions. Drinks will be my boat drinks (see Top Chef final thread), various beers, Grey Goose Pepper shots, and Woodford Reserve.

Any of you use any of those mustard based bar-b-q sauces? Have to make it here in Mobile for none of the grocery stores carries them. Have to get it when I see family up in Phenix City.

Re: Gameday Menu- VT

Going over to my dad's house where there are 1 1/2 inch thick ribeyes on the grill, drunk mushrooms (red wine, butter and teriyaki sauce) and baked potatoes. I'm bringing homemade fudge pie which will be eaten warm with homemade vanilla ice cream.

Re: Gameday Menu- VT

I'm late in this thread but I cooked a big pot of my Bama Stew which is really a tomato base vegetable beef soup with potatoes, carrots, peas, corn, lima beans, green beans, celery, peppers, onion and chunks of beef. A big skillet of cornbread is all that is needed for a good meal. A few snacks round out the day.
