Prattville D impressive!

Share

Prattville traveled to Ohio for their season opener and suffered a defeat at the hands of one of the best teams in the country. However, since then the defense hasn't given up a point! Last night they played Brentwood Academy out of Tennessee, and shut them out. You don't see a 6A team go 4 straight games with a shutout too often. The offense isn't clicking on all cylinders yet, but with the defense playing so well they are rolling along. Funny thing is none of the players are on any list of top recruits or anything just good solid team play with everyone running to the ball. Lot of ball to be played but Prattville might have a good shot for their third straight title.

Re: Prattville D impressive!

Actually, Albright and Page are being looked at. Brownell might get an offer from Tubby (as a LB). My parents heard the guys on ESPN say that the D has 5 guys that could go D-1.... that is very impressive. They also said that the D-line is one of the best they have seen in the last 3 years. The D needs to keep up the shutouts b/c Sam Gibson is not a very good QB, but he is the best we have.

Re: Prattville D impressive!

The defense is awesome. Lots of talent everywhere, especially along the line. Page, who is my neighbor, has been told by UA and AU that he is too small. Too bad because he has a motor that will not quit. His uncle played qb at Vandy and led them to a win against us while Perkins was here. Maybe they will find a spot for him, he's a good kid.

Don't be too harsh on Sam, he gets better every week. He needs to run more and they need to stop rolling him out to his left, too hard of a throw for him at this point. We aren't making as much use of Jerodis Williams as I would have thought. The offense is still searching for an identity, but there are still 5-6 weeks before the playoffs begin, plenty of time to get it together.

Idea Re: Prattville D impressive!

P'ville should post an impressive margin tonight . I'm thinking about 51-0 over Jeff Davis - my old school

Re: Prattville D impressive!

Yeah Prattville shut out JD to run the streak to 5 straight. I didn't realize the record is 7 straight for a 6A school. Want to take a guess who has that record?

We play Stanhope Elmore. The game is there, but could possibly be moved if their stadium is not completed (All this is hearsay).

Re: Prattville D impressive!

Thats my old defensive coordinator up there in Pratville, Coach Sessions! He used to be the DC at Davidson High School, and they were RAW on defense, Coached the likes of Michael McNeil, Calvin Rodgers, Pat McNeil, London Crawford, Jermaine Preyear, Tyrone King, Justin Wright, Quientin Pierce, Gerald West, Keiron Wilson... etc... We had a great team back in the day when he was with us, but Coach Riley's big mouth ran him off... I'll tell you what else Sessions does great! Getting kids into college!!! He really cares unlike most high school coaches what happens to his players after high school so he does everything in his power to get these guys into school, anywhere with a football prgram and higher education...

Unless something has changed, Coach Sessions is not the D-coordinator. That is Coach Gibbons.

Excuse me! I should have looked that up. Maybe he's a DB or LB'ers coach? I know he coaches up there with the Lions though. I just assumed he was the DC...

According to Prattville's homepage, He is the DC. Coach Gibbons is listed as Strength and Conditioning Coach.

I would go with what the website says and not me. My friends that are on the team have always made it out that Gibbons was DC.
