Well, your first high school football champion is in 3A and it is the Leeds Green Wave. Congratulations to Leeds and congratulations to Cordova. They had a great season and actually scored 21 points on a Leeds defense that was averaging about 3 a game.
Leeds rolled up a Class 3A championship record 377 yards and 24 first downs
Quarterback Rush Perkins led the way with 145 yards rushing and three touchdowns in earning the game's Most Valuable Player honors
Running back Dedrick Forsythe added 120 yards and a touchdown for the Green Wave
Cordova did manage to score 21 points on the Green Wave -- nearly half the total the Leeds' defense allowed in the previous 14 games
Blue Devils' running back Tim Simon rushed for 180 yards and a TD
Leeds held the rest of the Blue Devils to just 100 yards in total offense

Congratulations to Leeds. A very well coached, disciplined team. Tough defense that held Simon to 50+ yards in the first half.
Congratulations to my Blue Dev!ls. They made it to the finals when a lot of people doubted them.

It was another blowout and at the conclusion of todays first game, Sweet Water has been crowned 1A champs. They dominated every phase of the game and it showed on the scoreboard as Sweet Water recorded the first shutout of this years Super Six.

Sweet Water rolled up 411 yards in total offense
They finished the season at 14-1 and winners of 40 of their last 41 games

It was a game of streaks in the 5A championship game. Vigor opened up 21-3 before watching Russellville storm back to take a 23-21 lead. Once again the Wolves went on a tear and took the lead for good going up 50-23 before Russellville got a late TD to make the final 50-30. The combined point total set a new 5A championship game scoring record.
On a 28-degree night at Legion Field, Vigor quickly got hot and melted at least six records
Vigor set high marks for total offense in any class at 606 yards and total rushing of 480 yards
Vigor set records for the most points by a team in the 5A championship, rushing in a 5A championship, total yards in a 5A championship
The Wolves held Russellville to minus-11 yards rushing
Running back and game MVP Kendall Houston proved to be the workhorse as he rushed for 180 yards and had three touchdowns
Jalston Fowler also had 163 yards and three scores for the Wolves
Joseph Howe threw for 335 yards, including a Class 5A record 75 yarder to Nathan McAlister for the Golden Tigers

What a shame. Vigor wouldn't have scored 50 points in 4 games against Hartselle. Wasted season...
Aww, come on man, don't be a homer! Vigor had a really good team this year. I didn't know until I watched but their OL averages 300 lbs all the way across. Its kind of like Bama's. They're big and mean and once they start leaning on you its not long until you begin tiring out. Between the two backs that broke 150 yards and their QB they really have three dangerous RBs in the backfield.
I'm just hoping for a close game before the Super Six is over...

Well, Sulligent hung tough, down only 14-8 through the middle of the third quarter but Loroy's defense was just too much. The Bears D allowed one score and knocked Sulligent's franchise player, QB Caleb Massey, out of the game. The Blue Devils never threatened after that point. The Bears join Sweet Water in becoming the second team to have completed the threepete in this years Super Six. The Bears also now own four of the last five 2A championships.
Clint Moseley finished 15-of-27 passing for 272 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for Leroy
Michael Bracy finished with 131 yards and two scores on 19 carries for the Bears
Phillip Ervin added 128 yards on five catches for Leroy
Leroys' Sammie Coates caught two touchdowns
Caleb Massey finished 6-of-19 passing for 67 yards and two interceptions, adding 55 yards on the ground for Sulligent
Massey also had an interception on defense
Nathan Gilliland led the Blue Devils with nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery

Hoover watched its chances to send the Class 6A title game into overtime drift wide left Saturday, as Dylan Breeding's field-goal miss from 32 yards with four seconds to go finalized Prattville's third consecutive state championship.
Brian Egan made field goals from 41, 39 and 33 for the Lions' earning MVP honors
Sam Gibson finished 8-of-9 passing for 92 yards for Prattville
Zach Brownell had 10 tackles to go along with an interception for the Lions
Prattville's Nick Perry had a 72-yard interception return for a score
Simon Propst finished 17-of-35 passing for 133 yards and two interceptions for the Bucs
Reuben Carson added 93 yards on the ground
John Propst had 11 tackles for Hoover
Bucs kicker Dylan Breeding had made field goals from 25 and 28 yards
