I'm going to try to make it to the 2A girls final if Cold Springs makes it.

IH8, it looks like your Cold Springs girls made it to the finals. Good luck!

Re: Finals Fours in B'ham

I went down Saturday and saw half of the 6A girls game and then all of the 6A boys, 5A girls, and 5A boys.

6A Boys Vestavia Hills(winner) vs. Bob Jones

VH has a kid that can play. He had 33 in the game and was the MVP. Heard he is going to WKU. I wish Bama could get someone like him, just a pure shooter.

5A Girls Leflore(winner) vs. Brewer

Quite possibly one of the worst basketball games I have seen in a long time. Started poorly for Brewer. Won the tip and went the wrong way and didn't get much better. 63 totals fouls called in the game. Leflore has some big girls that can play. Our womens coach, Wendell Hudson was in attendance.

5A Boys Butler(winner) vs. Parker

Easily the best game of the ones I saw. Butler is an extremely well coached team by Coach Jack Doss. Probably has one of the best players in the state, Trevor Lacy, who is a sophomore. At one point he reversed a layup and pointed to Antoine Pettway who has just got back from the Ole Miss game. Parker also has a really good player, Eric Bledsoe. He is a top recruit but has not committed to anyone yet.

Re: Brewer game.

At one point, the free throws (not fouls) were something like 13 for Leflore to 1 for Brewer. Was Brewer fouling that much, or getting jobbed?

Re: Finals Fours in B'ham

IMO, Brewer fouled that many times. They reached and grabbed the entire game. I am sure there were some fouls that could have not been called but Brewer could not handle Leflore's speed and size. The fouls probably helped Brewer slow the game down and kept them in it.

Thanks for the solid explanation. Makes sense.
