Those mean ol' Swifties! Why can't they leave me alone?

In a statement released to reporters, Kerry's campaign announced it had "filed a legal complaint against Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT) before the Federal Election Commission (news - web sites) (FEC) for violating the law with inaccurate ads that are illegally coordinated with the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign."

The New York Times on Friday reported that there is a "web of connections" between the Swift Boat group and the "Bush family, high-profile Texas political figures and President Bush (news - web sites)'s chief political aide, Karl Rove."

Add some paranoia and this campaign season is getting interesting.....

Oh, and the White House says that Wafflin' John is losing his cool.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Democratic Party launched a costly round of ads Friday to buttress John Kerry's credentials to be commander in chief as the White House accused the Massachusetts senator of "losing his cool" over attacks on his war record.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040820/D84J6PEO0.html

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said several times that the senator's comments showed he had lost his cool, a suggestion that Bush's rival lacked presidential temperament.

"I do think that Senator Kerry losing his cool should not be an excuse for him to lash out at the president with false and baseless attacks," the spokesman told reporters in Crawford, Texas.

"We've already said we weren't involved in any way in these ads," he said. "We've made that clear."

Latest Swift Boat Ad about Kerry's post-war anti-war protest

Kerry's campaign can't counter the charges made by the Swift Vets so they're attempting to smear and silence them. This has nothing to do with Bush and everything to do with Kerry's anti-war activities when he returned from Vietnam and the men he slandered.

Reportedly, Salon.com is saying that the Kerry campaign is asking the publisher of 'Unfit for Command' to cease publishing the book and is going to ask retailers not to sell the book.

Good to see that the Kerry campaign believes in freedom of speech.

Typical democrat... when things don't go their way, they whine for someone to fix it or "make it go away".

It's ok for MoveOn.org to slander his opponent, but not ok for an opposition group to slander him.
