The guy has a point but unfortunately, by voting Libertarian, you REALLY are throwing your vote away. It takes money to be a national party and I don't think the LP has that kind of $$. Even if it did, I'm not sure it would have all that much appeal. I like some parts of the LP but IMO, the fatal flaw in it is that it seems to lack a moral underpinning. It's almost like Libertarians are quasi-anarchists. Men marrying donkey's? Sure. Shoot your neighbors if you don't like the music you hear coming out of their den? Sure, why not? OK, I'm exagerating a bit.

Well I know I'm one of the good guys. Are you?

been reading Boortz lately and it seems that the Libertarian Party is going through a bit of a split-up. after this schism has settled down the two or more parts left over will have an even lesser chance of electing anyone to any post in the nation. well, dogcatcher maybe.
yeah, i'll vote for them...

There are two kinds of people in the world:
Like practically all Third Party diatribes, this one is long on criticizing Dems and the GOP and very short on explaining what said Third Party would do in their shoes.
In other words, what's right with them?
I've had a great deal of trouble learning what Libertarians are all about. I recall a speech made by their candidate, Harry Browne, in which he said his first day as president he wold abolish roughly half the departments of federal government before lunch. This is probably a great line to agitate the masses (if, indeed, there are enough Libertarians to be considered a "mass") but Congress might have something to say about all those abolishments. They might consider it (Gasp!) unconstitutional.
I once considered throwing in my lot with the Libertarians, but lately their rhetoric has become as fuzzy as a dust bunny. How would they handle the myriad problems confronting us in the here and now? We've got a hot little war going now with Al Qaeda. Does generalissimo Harry Browne suggest we retreat into Fortress America and allow the heathens to rule the rest?
And what about social security? Will it, too, be abolished, leaving pensioners to root in garbage cans for dog food? It takes money to do stuff, Harry; can you swing everything on excise taxes alone? How stand the Libertarians on free trade and closed borders? Some attention to an energy policy and fuel prices would be appreciated.
Do you favor us "doing our own thing at all times?" This does nostalgically follow the doctrine of the 1960s hippies but it might affront the church-going. Drugs? Abortion? States Rights? Don't forget them.
Speak, Harry. We can see and hear Bush and Kerry washing their dirty laundry any day of the week. We don't need enlightenment on that score. What we need is for you to tell us why you are any better and how you intend to lead us into utopia.
And that goes double for the Constitution Party. I take it they are in favor of the Constitution and that is a fine thing. Now get down to brassy tacks.
I already have Nader scoped out. He intends to wreck our economic system with consumerism and environmental regulations. At least his course is clear.
