A couple of months ago, I decided to ditch my wired cellphone headset and go with a Bluethooth headset. So I went to my local cell phone service center and bought this
Motorola H690 headset.
It's not a bad little headset, but the problem is this little ear loop that attaches to the rear.
This earloop broke on my headset only about a month after I bought it. I wasn't very excited about it until I went to look for a replacement. I went to several of my cell phone stores, including the service center. No good. They don't carry it. I went to my carrier's website, and although they have the headset itself available for sale, they don't carry the ear loop. Then I went to the manufacuterers website (
Motorola home - Motorola USA), but they didn't have it either.
So what I found out is that this headset, which costs between $55 and up depending on where you buy it, is rendered completely useless when the 5 cent ear loop breaks. And what's more, it's NOT AVAILABLE for individual sale!!
So I've contacted my carrier and they are going to take it back and issue a full refund. That's the only good news out of this entire experience.
So a piece of advice to anyone looking to purchase a new Bluetooth headset. Make sure you don't buy a really expensive headset that can be made useless by the loss or breakage of a very cheap but irreplaceable ear loop.
