How could organic banana baby food have no potassium in it?

I'd be quite interested to know that if any of you smart types could tell me. Or do you think they just left the content off the label assuming you know it has potassium in it?

Is it a nutrition label that says Potassium: 0% or are you looking for an exhaustive list of minerals in a food?

Judging by your avatar you prefer the real thing so you should be OK.

Re: How could organic banana baby food have no potassium in it?

This is only a guess...
I think a full banana has only like 15-25% of your "recommended daily value" of potassium.
A jar of baby food, I would guess is a small bite of banana mixed with water and crushed. So, say 10% of a banana is used in a jar of baby food = 10% of 15-25% = 1.5% - 2.5% of your RDV of potassium.
That is a very elementary calculation, but my point is that maybe there is so little banana, and also given that the amount of potassium in a whole banana isn't exactly a ton, may make the amount of K in a jar of baby food unregisterable.
Just speculating...

Re: How could organic banana baby food have no potassium in it?

organic food is a complete farce. if it was actually natural it would have plenty of potassium in it. the question i have is what level of trace elements does it have? the dirty little secret of the vitamin and food industry is that when it comes to trace elements, you can have 200% of what is on the label and still sell it. so it is easy to sicken babies if you happen to get a "rich trit." Im not sure if this is how baby food works but i would be suspicious.

Here is the back of the label. No potassium noted.

Here is another one that we had that shows the potassium.

Re: How could organic banana baby food have no potassium in it?

I would guess that the "Earth's Best" banana baby food has similar potassium content as other banana baby foods.

Now if it specifically said no potassium, I would be confused and surprised.

at first glance I read 'potassium' as 'possum'. Maybe you could start that thread, too?

I'm with you. I just assume by omission it means none is there. And I'm easily confused.

I think possum is very high in potassium. I don't know, though, how much possum content is in bananas. And I would start a thread but I think you and I would be the only ones to enjoy it.
