99% likelihood this is simply astasia-abasia. Hysterical gait. Conversion disorder. Notice how she doesn't fall? One would expect, if this is indeed dystonia, that she would fall down and hurt herself - A LOT. Someone with a true neurologic gait disturbance like that should be covered in bruises, scrapes, and bumps. Not a mark on that pretty little face.
The neurologists are being kind in telling her it's dystonia. Dystonia has a much less hysterical look to it. Choreoathetosis and hemiballism, even Parkinsonism or dystonic reactions from medications have a different look to them. There are forms of dystonia where the irregular motion is only evident with certain movements and not others (like with walking, but not with running), but the manner in which she demonstrates it is very unusual.
They need to send her to a psychiatrist, and hopefully that's likely just what they've recommended. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this is either malingering (hoping to sue the company that made the vaccine) or a conversion disorder (loss of motor function due to an unresolved subconscious conflict). Unfortunately, she would prefer us to believe it was the flu shot.

Agreed, I am no fan of the flu shot but this can't be a byproduct.
It would be hard for me to believe that she could be malingering; she would have to continue this ruse for months, maybe even years. It would take too much effort on her part. I have to think that it is a conversion disorder.
If you are jaded, then I must be too. Though I do not like to think that someone could fake that, I have a hard time believing that was from a flu shot.

Not the flu, but the other things that go into the shot. I have no idea if this lady is putting us all on, but it wouldn't surprise me...

Is it possible that since she walks backwards that the bruises & scrapes are on her other side & not easily visible? I'm simply asking...

I read a book this weekend about a previously healthy high school cheerleader who suddenly became paralyzed in both legs for over a year. Her family and friends were very distraught over this and went out of their way to be nice to her. She underwent every medical intervention thinkable including several muscle biopsies. In the end, the physician admitted her to the hospital, started "physical therapy" and requested that she have no visitors or phone privileges. She was up and walking in 3 days. When the human mind is at work, and there is a reward for a behavior, strange things can happen. Think about sitting in a wheel chair for 365+ days.
I agree that this doesn't look like any of the normal movement disorders. As far as I know, there is no movement disorder in which walking backwards is easier. I agree with SavannahDare on this one, it's most likely conversion disorder or malingering. Notice that they didn't interview the neurologist, and he probably did her a disservice by slapping a label like "dystonia" on her.
"Jennings was misdiagnosed multiple times with a variety of diagnoses since receiving the influenza shot, which she thought would protect her from illness. She has since been diagnosed by her treating physician, Dr. Rashid A. Buttar, with a number of conditions including but not limited to Acute, Viral Post Immunization Encephalopathy and Mercury Toxicity with secondary respiratory and neurological deficits.
Since then her story has made headlines here and abroad, with videos explaining her disorder garnering millions of hits on YouTube. The responses she has received have been overwhelmingly supportive, encouraging…and informative. Celebrity couple Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carey helped point Desiree in the right direction through Generation Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and reversing autism.
The treatments with Dr. Buttar at the Center for Advanced Medicine and Clinical Research in Charlotte, NC are working, and the results are nothing short of amazing. Jennings can now walk and talk normally throughout the vast majority of the day and the seizures/convulsions have significantly decreased. Although her full recovery will take an undetermined amount of time, her family is now for the first time, convinced she will make a complete recovery. She is now more than ever, driven by a desire to educate others to be informed of the potential side effects caused by vaccines and prevent others from suffering a similar fate."
I am so glad that Jenny McCarthy's organization helped her out so much. Mercury toxicity....from a single flu shot? Really? Something smells very fishy (no pun intended on the mercury point). I'm thinking that they gave her chelation therapy, and this should prove how "safe" that is
