The jury deliberated over 60 counts in under 2 hours... that is what you call a slam dunk.
For anyone in the Birmingham media market, he is giving a live press conference now (He's out until sentencing, which will be in 90 days), and this is one of the most entertaining things I've EVER seen. Absolutely vintage Langford.
He should have hired Cowboy Bob Clark. That's what Herman Thomas did and got acquitted. But that's Mobile for you.
Unbelievable. How could Tyson not get a conviction with the mountain of evidence he had?

I'll say. He let everybody "have it" !!! I don't know if the man is guilty or not, but I think it's suspicious that the jury took less than two hours to deliberate on 60 counts against him. Just how long could they have taken on each count? Two minutes?

Chances are they deliberated on each specific crime (Bribery, fraud, etc.) and found he was guilty of all the related charges. Still, I'd love to hear some of the comments from the jury.
The defense simply didn't do a good enough job to refute the paper trail the government had.
What do you want to bet Obama ends up pardoning this convict? Any takers?

You are looking at it all wrong. Yes, it was 60 counts. But the central issue was whether or not he was in a corrupt relationship with his co-conspirators. If you answer that question yes, then he is guilty of all the counts. For instance, there was a count for each thing he was given. There was a count for each time a credit card or the mails were used to facilitate the scheme. Two hours was plenty of time for this jury to decide the issue. It's not surprising at all that they came back quickly. It just means that there were no jurors who thought he was innocent and needed convincing. And in no event is it "suspicious."
