Re: Young son of Birmingham radio host drowns
Very sad. Beyond my ability to imagine, thankfully. Thanks for posting this.

It must be horrible to lose a child.
Your whole life revolves around a child two years old.
Sympathies and prayers to his family.

Wow, tragic. I have a 2 1/2 yr old little girl and my heart breaks for their family. They are in my prayers.

Re: Young son of Birmingham radio host drowns
How did he get in the pool? Who was watching him? This is so sad and tragic. My heart goes out to the family. Here in Florida this happens so often they have started prosecuting some parents for neglect when a child drowns in a backyard pool.

Re: Young son of Birmingham radio host drowns
On the show this morning, they told that Rick was in Pigeon Forge, TN, witnessing to an evangelical conference. His wife, Sherri, had just brought all of their kids inside from playing in the snow. She turned a movie on for the children, then went to take a shower. When she got out, she found that the youngest had gotten himself outside and had fallen in the pool.
I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I don't think this is a case that would be considered neglect. If you have multiple children, as I do, you understand that there are times when your children can put themselves in harm's way. You cannot watch them every minute. There are a thousand things around the house that can hurt or kill a child. You address and guard against everything that is reasonable, but in the end you end up risking the odds on occassion.

That is awful. I don't want anyone to think that I am accusing anyone, that's not the case. It's the first question that is asked in FL - "how did that happen?" - due to the numerous drownings we have. Two little ones died just last week - ages 2 & 4. Their mother was in another room thinking they were watching TV, but they had ventured out to the pool.
