my awesome wife (this is a true blessing if you knew anything about my first wife)
a new home
a great job
great friends
wonderful family
a great church
the ability to get out and work in my yard on weekends
the ability to get out and play softball a couple of nights a week soon
my health
the chance to be thankful for these things everyday

How about the rest of you?

Re: Prayer of thanks

Salvation

My husband of 26 years - he is a spiritual giant, a caring and compassionate man and a wonderful dad - he amazes me.

Two wonderful daughters - and they have given us two great sons

A church family that is incredible

a new home

finances that have allowed me to leave the workforce for a time

good health -

as of last night no broken bones after falling off the church platform - made for a great ending to services to say the least.

Good friends

Re: Prayer of thanks

Salvation
His Perfect Word
Prayers from God-fearing parents during the prodigal years
Sobriety
Health
A Godly Pastor
A good church
The call to preach (and tons of help doing it)
Correction (often)
Forgiveness
Many Answered Prayers
...and the freedom which still exists in this country to give thanks publicly (such as now) without threat of reprisal

p.s. - thank you, bamanut, for starting this thread.

Are you a pastor?
No, a lay preacher at the moment. I am ordained, but am currently serving and learning under a good, caring pastor. My role for the time being is filling in gaps at our church (and occasionally others) and keeping some of the side ministries going (nursing home visitation, etc.)

I cannot imagine greater joy than service, however. That's not meant as false piety--I often fail to serve as well as I should--it's just that nothing is as rewarding as a worthwhile task done for God. I do wish that I had started earlier in life, but I am grateful that I was spared and rescued.

And I'm glad you didn't break any bones as well. I'll bet that was a moment.

Re: Prayer of thanks

It was a moment to hit the floor- I did not mention that I as I walked to the stage to receive this wonderful gift I had a Campbell's soup label stick to the backside of my skirt. God has such a wonderful sense of humor.

I am sure you are a valued servant to your pastor and the church but most of all to our Lord Jesus Christ. We all fail to serve to the best of our ability. Being the pastor's wife I often fight against what the church expects and what God desires. It is a tough calling to be ask by God to serve but WOW what an honor. My prayers are with you. If you ever make it to Decatur stop by Southside Baptist and say hi.

It has it moments-I truly cannot imagine not being in this position. Fortunately as a teenager I really felt I was called to marry a preacher so I feel privileged that I was trusted with such a role.

Re: Prayer of thanks

And many don't realize that the call for a woman to be a pastor's wife is just as valid a call as that of being the pastor. Some of the most encouraging people I've known have been pastor/wife teams who loved the Lord.

May God bless you (and your hubby) richly, dear Sister.

Thanks bn_aj for posting this. My thanks are for blessings far, far TNTC.*
