Former OL David Sadler died

Share

Former Alabama OL David Sadler has passed away. No details. Sadler started on the 1977 team that was leap-frogged by Notre Dame in the final polls and finished #2 in the country.

Sadler might be best remembered by his classic quote following the Tide's 35-6 thumping of Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl that season.

A reporter asked Sadler what he felt the key was in Alabama's blowout win over the Buckeyes.

Sadler replied, "Our kicking game."

"The kicking game?" the reporter responded.

"Yes," said Sadler. "We kicked their butts."

God Bless David Sadler.
