Hate to see his career end, but it is probably in his best interest. I didn't know he had to wear a brace to support his neck. That is really scary. I hope he can live a long, healthy life.

I hate to hear this.... Years ago when Chris was a Freshman @ Bama I had the opportunity to meet him and his parents and at that time my kids where infants... Chris and his family where an absolute pleasure and they all went out of their way to be nice; even Chris allowing a pic with me and my kids! Just a class act; and I only wish him the best! RTR!!!!
Re: Chris Samuels out for the Season, maybe Career
I used to be a big fan of his until I heard about a couple of things he's done. I heard he said that if South Alabama would have had a football team when he was in high scholl that he would have gone there. Not a big deal, but where's the love for UA?
What really soured me on him was when the media asked he and Clinton Portis about Vick. I saw him chuckle about the torturing of dogs and laugh at the questions while Portis said dogfighting was no big deal. I lost all respect for him right then. He was a heck of a ball player, though.

I am a big Chris Samuels fan and I remember all the good things he did while at the UA and after he left. Weighing him on his entire body of work he will always be one of the greats.
