Description:
Bacon-wrapped Water Chestnuts
Other: Ingredients:
Time:
45 minutes
Difficulty:
Easy
Serving Size:
Serves 3-5 people
  1. 1 Pkg of center cut bacon.
  2. 1 can of sliced water chestnuts.
  3. 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar.
Preparation:
  1. Cover a large cookie sheet with aluminum foil. You will only forget to do this once (Caramalized brown sugar is very hard to clean off of a cookie sheet).
Instructions:
  1. Place the brown sugar into a bowl. Cut the package of bacon in half length-wise. Take one slice of water chestnut and wrap one of the half pieces of bacon around it. Stick a toothpick through it to hold it in place. Roll (Tide) the bacon wrapped water chestnut in the brown sugar so that it is fairly well coated with brown sugar. Place it on the foil covered cookie sheet. Repeat until you've run out of water chestnuts and/or bacon.
  2. Place in 350 degree oven for 20-30 minutes or until the bacon is cooked to suit your taste.
  3. Take them off the cookie sheet and place on a serving dish. Watch them disappear.

There are a number of silicone baking mats on the market to keep cleanup to a minimum . You can also use parchment paper.
