Well, stinks not to get Tebow, but one thing this recruitment has shown me is that CMS is extremely confident in JPW's ability to get the job done. It's disappointing, but it's time to move on. Here' my guess at how we finish up:
1. Andre Smith
2. Earl Alexander
3. Michael Goggans
4. Milton Talbert
5. Derrick Odom
6. Jeremy Beal
7. Ochuko Jenije
8. Terry Grant
Okay, I promised a super seven, but I'll go with an Elite Eight. I think we have a tremendous shot at 1-6. 7 and 8 might be a little tougher, but this staff is showing me they want another RB. Jake Jones, Aram Olson, Peanut Whitehead are on my 'others to consider list', though I don't get a good feeling about Whitehead. I think we can sell a shot at QB to Earl Alexander better than anyone now, certainly better than Auburn, and he is almost a sure thing now.
Of everyone left on our board at the positions that are filling up, I look for the ones with the least amount of big-time offers to commit quickly because of the risk of being left out. Believe you are absolutely correct about Beal, Jenije, & Talbert. The ones like Smith, Hawthorne, etc... they can afford to play it out until the end because room will be made for them if they commit.
I think Hawthorne is locked into coming in the same class with a star QB. He's UGA's now IMO. But don't worry, Mike McCoy is his equal, just wait til you see this kid. Also, Earl Alexander will have a chance to be something special as a WR.

Would tend to agree somewhat about Hawthorne... except for the fact that his parents are very similar to Tebow's... big fans of the home school. And, he's playing it real close to the vest... taking the tour around town (i.e. Rouse). Still believe we can go into NSD with a 50/50 for him based solely on background. Regarding Alexander, I have a big worry w/ his being converted to a WR. Right now, we need guys who are experienced at the position with regards to route running and hands. Converting EA into this position makes me believe he will take two or even three years to get the hang of the position to the point he can contribute greatly. Not down on him, but am concerned that he would be having to learn his new position. With that said, I am not certain that we would not be better off with Courtney Smith. But, in the end, I don't believe it matters because he's coming to play at Bama!!!
ok, now, let's get on to business.... a quick guess
1. Earl Alexander
2. Jeremy Beal
3. Ochuko Jenije
4. Milton Talbert
5. Derrick Odom
6. Kentrell Lockett
7. Andre Smith
8. Terry Grant
Do you guys really think we'll get Beal? I'd rather have him than Toryan Smith ANYDAY. After watching his film i'm simply amazed. He is physically capable of playing right away. Where is Brandon Spikes on that list? Do we not think he's coming anymore?

we have a great shot at Beal and I think Spikes follows Tebow.
Well I am still holding out hope for Spikes but it doesn't look nearly as promising now for Spikes or Hawthorne.
In some crazy way it vastly improves Bama's chances with Earl Alexander with him wanting a shot at QB. Besides that the only other bright spot I can see with Tebow commiting to the Gators is we will have at least one more slot opened for a talented prospect to fill. Actually it may turn out to be two or three more slots.
I commented on Whitehead in my post above. I just don't get good vibes from him at all. I guess we have some shot with him, but he looks like a kid that is going to leave state in my estimation. As far as Spikes goes, I think he ends up at Florida. Just a guess. I'll say this: I won't miss Spikes at all if we land Odom and Beal. Both are great looking LBs.
I've all but ruled out Spikes and Hawthorne (though Spikes may still be a slight possibility). I would like to pick up a couple DL committs. I feel good about Goggans, but Chinasa, Ricks, and Whitehead look unlikely now.
