Walter Sharpe to Alabama or UAB?

Share

Talented Birmingham-native Walter Sharpe has been dismissed from the Mississippi State basketball team. Many expect either Alabama or UAB will benefit from his departure.

For several reasons...

none of which I can share, I'd say UAB will be the destination...

While we need bodies, we aren't that desperate. UAB will hopefully help him get straightened out.

If Sharpe were to come to Bama you can bet your bootie it will be with a "zero tolerance" agreement. He is a terrific athlete but he will need a "born again" experience.

My Mood: GameFace

I think the new dorms on Bham's Southside aren't even big enough for the baggage

Although talent-wise, CMA would possibly benefit, I am prone to doubt that he will not even end up there. My guess would be D2 school.

I still remember Coach Croom telling Sharpe's HS coach if Walter Sharpe came to MSU that he would look out for him, take good care of him and make a man out of him. That is a paraphrase of a direct quote attributed to Croom by Sharpe's HS coach in an interview on the radio. I guess Croom is not a man of his word or either he out and out lied to the HS coach and Sharpe. First off I remember thinking what in the heck is a brand new football coach doing worrying about basketball recruits. I guess that sort of thing will get you a losing record.

You'll never see Sharpe at the UA.
